Any Silsbee update

On this series, SA ran the spread like normal but after reaching the 10 yard line they went to a double wing. That didn't work. Lost yards on two plays. Went back to spread and scored.

The first two were tipped in the endzone, the first off his own player’s hands. He forced that one but he drew them offsides on a hard count and I assume he thought he had a free play. The last two he forced.

edit: I also have to wonder if he forced a little more because the refs were ruling them down as soon as a defender got close so scrambling was basically not an option.

People always talking about winners and losers in scrimmages, but I gotta go with AAW on this one. 
 

controlled HF 1, OF 0

two live quarters: HF 1, OF 1, but OF had an INT that would’ve most likely been a pick-6, or at the very least returned very deep. I think they score it, but the refs blew it dead when he was at the 25 or so and HF had some speed guys running that general direction to try and stop him, so who knows. 
 

Both defenses played well. OF only had maybe 4 first downs in 4 possessions, and 2 of those on penalties. HF moved the ball, but OF came up with 4 turnovers. HF has to shore things up on the offensive side of the ball. 
 

I was talking throughout the game, so if I got any details slightly wrong, please forgive me, OF.

Alto/San Augustine scrimmage

Alto 1 TD

SA 3 TD's

 

Live quarter

SA dominated. Score was 13-0. Alto never got it pass their own 40 yard line.

Scrimmage ended after an Alto player went down with a very severe leg injury.

For some reason in the quote it doesn’t show I took out Ashworth threw the TD. It was Gohlke with the TD pass.

Ashworth didn't play in the live portion. Gohlke threw the TD. Henry didn't play. Ashworth took 8 snaps and threw three passes in the controlled portion. 1 completion. 1 incomplete. 1 on a deep ball to Daylon that might have been a TD if the WOS corner hadn't of tackled him and had pass interference called on him. 

 

PNG ran a very bland offense. Maybe 5 different plays total. No QB runs. WOS running backs are legit. Quick and hard to bring down. 

 

WOS scored their 2nd TD against backups.

Thanks for the correction. Khelvy carried the ball more than any other rb in our history. Not that he isnt deserving of the title. But we never needed a 2000 yard rb before. Most were shutting down in the 3rd cuz we were up by 40+. Hope he can get more rest this year.

QB Dugas finally found his footing in the playoffs. So i expect more from him to balance the Silver O. Every team is gonna focus on stopping Jefferson. Vidor showed that last week in the scrimmage.

Bellville vs El Campo

Controlled part 

El Campo 1 TD

Bellville 0 TD

Played a live half with a constant running clock which ended 7-7. 
 

Bellville will have some growing pains this year but hopefully will have it out together come district/playoffs. Baptism by fire begins with a trip to Waco Robinson next week. 
 

El Campo up front on both sides of the ball impressed me. Lots of size on the O line. They will contend for a district championship with Bay City IMO

Deweyville -1

In the live quarter Hardin 2 Deweyville 0

 

Overall Deweyville didn't have the size and speed to match Hardin. It was the same as last week for the Pirates defense is well ahead of the offense. Deweyville is young and growing pains are part of achieving success.
