10-4A DII has 4 top 25 teams.

#2 WO-S

#14 Silsbee

#19 Hamshire-Fannett

#25 Shepherd

Hardin-Jefferson and Jasper.

This will be a very tough district.

Shepherd is going to have to prove they're worth that #25 spot going forward with all of the players that they get back.

I believe Silsbee can win district. Their ground game this year should be one of the best around. Im looking to see 2 running backs close or over 1000 yards. I want to see what the passing game and QB looks like. Go get em Tigers.

I think HJ will be better than Sheperd.

Shepherd was a playoff team last year and return 17 starters.

HJ was 4-6 and 2-5 in district play last year. HJ returns 12 starters.

Shepherd coach Miles Robison:  39-55   41% win rate as a head coach.

HJ coach Zach Bass:  10-38   21% win rate as a head coach.

Both records are not much to write home about.  But the edge does go to Shepherd!

Does HJ have an athlete that could be the difference maker? Maybe Dorian? I can't remember what I read. Lol

Dcorian Warren

Eric Pitre

Blake Walker

The team is better than the record shows... Especially on defense. Offense has struggled for sure for a few years.

Region 3 alone has 11 teams ranked in the preseason top 25 for 4A-DII. Not including Waco La Vega who moves to Region 4 which doesn't make much sense to me.

Region 3 is tough enough without them 🤣

DCTF prediction has the district finishing like this:

1. WO-S

2. Silsbee

3. Hamshire-Fannett

4. Shepherd

5. Jasper

6. Hardin-Jefferson

Returning starters (offense/defense)

WO-S  14  (7/7)

Silsbee  12  (8/4)

HF  15  (7/8)

Shepherd  16  (8/8)

Jasper   9  (4/5)

HJ  11  (6/5)

For the folks talking about how young Jasper was last year, they return the fewest starters of any of the teams. Doesn't make much sense.

I guess we will see. I know Sheperd lost a stud who moved away. That was a huge loss for them. From what I've heard the defense will be pretty good but the offense is pretty bad.

HJ had a lot of talent last year but lost a few players and then the momentum with it. They have a few terrific skills players including Warren one of the most talented in the district last year.
