No way to spin this: Obama gave Iran $1.7B to stop making nukes. Trump 2.0 agreed to give them $300B to rebuild, and unfreeze between $12-24B of their frozen assets, to re-open the Strait.* *Vance, Witcoff, Kusher are the architects. Israel had best look out for itself. The United States provided Israel with over $174B in total economic and military assistance since 1948. "The United States, along with regional partners" is giving Iran $300B, plus unfreeze another $24B in assets ASAP. If you're against giving Israel foreign aid you should be freaking out over what Iran is getting. Quote

Vance restores Obama era deal requirement to allow UN nuclear inspectors in Iran. Good! Very good news... In exchange, the US will immediately lift certain sanctions and allow Iran to sell their oil on the open market in US dollars. Not so good. Quote

I can see you got a like from girlz for the personal attack. When you try to show Trump as the bad guy without explaining why Obama smuggled $400 million CASH to the Iranians, and his policies had no effect on their nuclear program shutdown, well then its’ simply lying by misinforming. Changing the subject and attacking instead of discussing your mistake is perfectly understandable. I also see you edited your post after mine. Good job. Quote
baddog Posted 32 minutes ago Report Posted 32 minutes ago Google search: The Obama administration sent a total of $1.7 billion in cash to Iran in 2016. The funds were delivered in foreign currencies (including Swiss francs and euros) stacked on wooden pallets, with the initial installment of $400 million secretly airlifted into Tehran on an unmarked cargo plane. [ This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up , This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up , This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up ] Here is a breakdown of how the funds were distributed: Initial Payment: $400 million delivered on pallets. Subsequent Payments: $1.3 billion delivered in two additional shipments within 19 days. [ This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up , This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up ] Why the cash was sent Administration officials stated the payments resolved a decades-old arbitration dispute at an international tribunal in The Hague. The money originated from a Iranian trust fund used to purchase military equipment in the 1970s prior to the Islamic Revolution. Because strict international sanctions barred direct wire transfers or standard banking with Iran, the settlement was paid out in physical foreign currency. [ This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up , This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up , This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up ] Controversy surrounding the delivery The initial $400 million delivery coincided with the release of four American prisoners held in Iran, prompting heavy criticism and accusations from lawmakers that the cash amounted to a ransom payment. While the Obama administration denied the initial payout was a "quid pro quo" for the prisoners, officials later acknowledged the cash was used as leverage until the Americans were safely allowed to depart Quote
OlDawg Posted 19 minutes ago Report Posted 19 minutes ago I still don't see an agreement being reached. I see Iran delaying, and the Administration not wanting to return to military action to force the issue, and have oil spike again before elections. I just see this festering until after midterms. Hopefully, I'm wrong. I still believe the ceasefire was a tactical mistake. Quote
