Borderline prospects, playing definitely helps, but big-time recruits are often well offered before their senior year. I can envision where more 4-star plus athletes opt to sit their senior year, especially if they are on a mediocre team. I also believe some colleges will encourage this (even though the won't admit it) with the amount of NIL money some these kids stay to make. I can also more this happening more with UIL restricting transfers for "athletic purposes" and good private schools offering them to play. It's going to be a tough battle for schools and high school coaches to convince kids to compete once they get offers from preferred universities, worse if they decide to transfer and get denied by UIL. I agree with this statement and have been saying this for many years. The UIL has no idea what is about to him them in the next 5-10 years. Not everyone is playing by the same set of rules. At some point we have to stop with the non-sense about controlling where we send our kids to school and whether or not its for "athletic purposes". Well NO JOKE every single transfer in the history of transfers is for athletic purposes so they can learn to adapt or get left behind as more options become available. I too believe you will start to see committed seniors opt out of their UIL ISD senior year and take the road that better suits their career path. WhoDat 1 Quote

oldeagle Posted Thursday at 09:00 PM Report Posted Thursday at 09:00 PM 2Wedge - It will not be vs Woodville. It will be Babin and BH vs 6A District 18 (if the move is questioned). Quote

Setx fan Posted Friday at 12:52 AM Report Posted Friday at 12:52 AM Not a fan of the recruiting and all that within public schools but I hope everything goes well for Babin. Hopefully Woodville coaching staff and players can avoid distractions and focus on making the best out of what we got. We still got good players who deserve the coaching staff's best efforts. I hear we got a few new faces on the coaching staff that might do well so hopefully we make the best personnel adjustments and get ready to have a great season. 🦅 Quote

Good luck to all teams, coaching staffs and communities this upcoming season. Praying that all players will have great attitudes, exhibit the best sportsmanship possible and avoid major injuries. At the end of the day, it's just football. As for Babin, good luck to the kid wherever he plays (or does not play) at. Setx fan 1 Quote

No, they aren't transfers. They move into the district because they want to live in the 7th fastest growing community in the state of Texas with amenities. The topic is about "transfers" as it pertains to athletes. 1 in 10 athletes transfer due to academic/divorce/relocation of parent(s). 9/10 transfer for athletic purposes. Quote

Not saying you're incorrect but do you have a legitimate source (link/website) for what's in bold for the rest of us to see? Quote
