Playing 6A football competition may up his stock. He could up his NIL value or have a few more doors open to him. Don’t blame the kid or his parents for looking out for his best interest. Sounds like he is transferring for athletic reasons. Quote

What did all that do for Brady Barrier? Quote

TC2020 Posted yesterday at 12:56 PM Report Posted yesterday at 12:56 PM Go from being a big fish in a small pond to just another fish in the ocean. Staying at Woodville has definitely not hurt his recruiting - the offers speak for themselves. It has also bolded well for the numerous Woodville and Newton athletes that have played college football over the last decade. The "6A makes your stock rise" argument is ridiculous. Quote

You aren’t wrong… But 6A can make your stock rise… not a guarantee though. He will definitely have better resources at his disposal to become better Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

And he might have done just as well had he stayed at Hardin. Quote

Not so much about "stock". Its more about experience against a much higher level of competition. 6A experience will pay off later at Baylor. Quote

Also how many of the numerous athletes from Woodville and Newton in the last 10 years were going to play QB at a D1 school? Quote

Newton is not a passing team and Woodville just recently started implementing the pass more like 5 or 6 years ago. Babin is only the 3rd qb to come through since then. There are plenty big time d1 QBs that come from small schools though. Colt McCoy is the first that comes to mind. If you can play you can play. Real scouts know it when they see it regardless of what level your playing at TC2020 1 Quote
jds82 Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago With the first pick in the 2026 UIL Texas High School Football Draft, the Barbers Hill Eagles select QB Luke Babin...😕 (Maybe) Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

ETEXAG Posted 1 hour ago Author Report Posted 1 hour ago There is no denying you can be recruited from anywhere, but the level of competition you play dramatically helps the majority of players stock because some coaches , especially when dealing with QBs, want to see the level of competition you play. QB is such a mental game. How many QBs have washed out due to not having the processing speed or knowing how to read a defense. 6Avs 3A is has a different speed to it. at any rate, he will be better prepared for college ball having played games against 6A than playing kids who are 5’6 140 lbs who who just got out of 7th period Ag class. anyone who is salty hasn’t had the opportunity to make decisions that will affect hundreds of thousand dollars of income coming out out of Highschool. It’s a different world these days Quote
