tcufrog Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago Lots of talk about what district was the best. 11-5A has been eliminated from the discussion after getting swept by 12-5a. What will the records between the two districts be after round 2? Pick the record and who you think the winners will be. (12) A M Consolidated vs (9) PA Memorial (12) Austin Anderson vs (9) Barbers Hill (12) College Station vs (9) B United (12) Pf Weiss vs (9) Lufkin Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

purple reign Posted 22 hours ago Report Posted 22 hours ago Massey ratings picks: PAM 35, A&M 28 Barbers Hill 34, A. Anderson 27 College Station 48, United 14 Weiss 40, Lufkin 22 Quote
PackAttack Posted 22 hours ago Report Posted 22 hours ago It's funny that Massey pick's this way since Barbers Hill and Lufkin finished with the same record of 7-3 and 4-2 in district, and both took a beat down loss to PAM. Lufkin defeated the #2 team Westbury from 10-5A on the road, while took down #3 Waltrip at The Hill. Regardless that Barbers Hill beat Lufkin at their place, while BH lost to Sterling who didn't even make the playoffs. Both schools could probably debate those loses as some sort of strange occurrence at the time, however both lost big at home to PAM. Just the way I think, because Lufkin is not the same team that rolled in BH that first district game, they were then still learning totally new systems on both sides of the ball. Then again matchups are everything in the playoffs. Still believe PAM is the top dog as long as everyone is healthy. A split or even a sweep either way would not surprise me in this round of the playoffs. Quote

Austin1985 Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago I'm trying not to have too much hubris but..... Consolidated ain't scoring 28 on PA from what I've seen over the season from them Quote

You got beat plan and simple and skated by WB and Sterling. Lufkin is where they should be. Good luck Quote

Lufkin struggles with teams they should blow out. They ran the ball against a HISD school that was not good. 9-1 and played terrible schools. BU beat the DC of the district. No disrespect to BU cause they are building for the future, but i watch the broadcast on Mondays and Lufkin was seriously worried about BU and struggled. I hope they advance, but you not gonna be able to run on teams with a sound D or any defense from the second rd on up with a two man show. Lufkin backs aren't dynamic enough coming out the backfield IMO. Yes, Waters is good, but the yards he's had over the past two games were against bad defenses. He had 80 something yards against PAM and that was due to one or two plays. Again, I'm pulling for them, but i don't see them being any better than when district started. To be fair, besides PAM and Longview, everyone else it's hard to gage where yall sit. Now if yall had beat the brakes off BU and others after PAM, i would say yes. BHFAN 1 Quote

I can root for the localish/SETX teams. But, I like Anderson's 2 LB's, and their D is used to a balanced passing attack. I think they'll pressure Barrier into mistakes and misfires. I like the Trojans by a score in this one. Quote

I get where your coming from, I'm not blind to Lufkin's inefficiencies during the season. Think everyone in 9-5A DI has their work cut out for them this week. pakronos 1 Quote
