Nederland should do more to fix the problem with the tickets. You’ve got people who paid for tickets only to find out they were double-sold. I say open up seating for everyone who thought in good faith that they had tickets. The more people the merrier, especially for something as important to our community as this one. And, this was a massive screw up by the administration. It’s not as if they were unaware of the amount of volume the website would get for this game, and blaming it on payK12 isn’t good enough — They should have made sure they were ready to host a game of this size, and that includes picking a ticketing provider that can handle it. The best way to make it right is to open up expanded seating. A refund is a slap in the face - People want to see the game, not get their money back.

I understand the frustration, although I don't have a so-called dog in the fight this year, neither with trying to buy tickets, nor a grandchild or other relative involved in the game.  But I wouldn't think that NISD can really do anything. They hired a 3rd party, and I wouldn't expect them to have hold the 3rd party's hand.  Reportedly PNG previously used the same 3rd party, but apparently either learned their lesson, or else got a better deal with another outfit. Apparently information about any bad experience(s) weren't shared with NISD folks.  NISD I'm sure wants to bring in as much $ as possible, that's reportedly the reason this game isn't played at Lamar. But surely there are codes that must be followed, for fire and emergency, and a maximum capacity for the stadium. It's not like the old standing room only days I guess.  Otherwise, then take everyone's money and let them stand behind the end zones, just as you say.

Nederland ISD knew there was a problem because people were calling Nederland ISD. I called Nederland and the person who answered directly told me they knew there was a problem. I was given a number to call at PayK12, where I left a message (never got a call back). I left a message about 15 minutes later (to this day, still no call back. At every possible level PayK12 has been terrible).
 

It’s not about punishing or blaming Nederland — I understand unexpected things happen But now it’s about Nederland admin doing what it can do to make THEIR mistake right (they selected PayK12, they should have made sure payk12 could handle the traffic). There is always room on the side of the field. In 2023 they had Wade Phillips and about 30 other VIPs sitting at the end zone opposite the band in Nederland. Today the admin could easily identify who was harmed and accommodate them, something they are apparently not doing. It’s not a fire issue - it’s an effort issue.

According to someone I know who called PayK12…there’s not enough tickets left to fill the duplicates that were sold and the solution with agreement from NISD was to contact those affected in order by timestamp on original purchase and when they run out of tickets, all others will get a refund…not acceptable!  Sorry, I just think NISD has some fault in this and should’ve figured out a way to accommodate everyone who purchased tickets because there were TONS of issues with PayK12 last time the game was at Nederland so they had TWO years to prepare or switch to a service that could handle the traffic but THEY chose not to!!

I wonder if thing ran smoothly with hometown ticketing when it was at png?

Sounds like the rumor I was told by a Nederland parent that Buckstin got city approval to add temporary seating on Boston Ave for all the Nederland fans that leave by halftime and need a place to cry about the refs and hearing Cherokee so many times.

A young lady checker at a business in PN several years ago had musical notes tattooed on her arm, and I said please don't tell me that those notes are the PNG fight song. She laughed and said they weren't.  I can take the tune at the ball games, but otherwise not, like Cherokee car horns and the like.  Although when I was in school there I did a pretty good job of Cherokee with my duck call.

It would be funny to see a 27 point favorite field storm.  As I recall, Ned was a 21 point dog last year.

My guess is no.  That would make the win a bigger deal than it is/was.  In last season's context, PNG was ranked #1 in state at the time, and Ned was in a seemingly come-back season, and excitement overcame them, although the display didn't exhibit very much if any class.  You never know, of course, but my guess is still no, hopefully they have more class than that.
