ndn2016 Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago Ok here's my 2 cents - PNG defense could not stop Huntsville at all in the 1st half, they had no punts til 1st drive in 2nd half. Huntsville coaches gave PNG a huge present by attempting a field goal on 4th and less than 1 yard. PNG had not stopped them short of 1 yd all night, also when they got the interception with about 1:30 left and with 2 time outs left in the first half I thought they should have tried to go down and score if they had done that they would have really put PNG in the hole and broke them mentally. You don't let up when your opponent is down and struggling you make the knockout punch. Not sure what PNG did different in the second half from a scheme standpoint but they changed the battle on the line of scrimmage in there favor. They were getting dominated on the line in the first half. Kudos to the crowd for responding to the defensive players calling for their help at the beginning of the second half, I do believe the crowd caused several false starts. Great game Indian football is so much fun. JBB99 1 Quote

We’re running it fine. The passing choices are terrible. Both in the timing and the actual targets - Why are we throwing to double or quadruple coverage? Huntsville is only asking their qb to throw passes he can complete. We’re asking Bailey to do magic. First drive was wasted on stubbornly throwing it when we could have just pounded it for another first down on the ground. Hindsight is really great. Amazing how fans know more than the coaches. Quote

Great game Indian football is so much fun. I'm not questioning the Huntsville field goal decision, although I probably would have gone for it myself. I did however question PNGs play calling at the close of the 1st half. That long pass into coverage was silly, and not necessary with over a minute left. Anyway the game was definitely a tale of two halves. cal81 1 Quote

It was definitely a weird game. 1st time I've seen scissor lifts with cameras for the first home game in district(2nd district game)... at PNG Not about excuses. I think Huntsville has more dawg in them than what was expected. And that's a whole other issue. Good win PNG Quote
buccaneers4lyfe Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago PNG is such a machine these days... Can they make another run at a ship? Quote
Darth Texas Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago Good game Huntsvillle — The Hornets are much better than last year. Going to be very dangerous in the playoffs. I’m really concerned about Cash Barnwell - That injury looks bad. Hopefully it’s not something that can’t get better with rest. Tyson Henry needs to sit out against Splendora too. Rob Corpus 1 Quote

When was he injured? I missed that apparently. Sure hope he recovers quickly. Quote
Eagle91 Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago The PNG coaching staff made some great adjustments at halftime as they normally do. They took away the edge running game and sent pressure on the qb. I think they was trying to play safe in the first half afraid to give to up the big play. In the 2nd half they committed to the run and Henry came out running hard. I thought going into this game we would run the ball a lot more. I had a feeling the secondary would cover us a little better than the past teams could. The crowd was a huge factor! Sometimes it takes the fans too long before they get involved. Last night that team needed a little more motivation to begin the 2nd half and the Indian faithful gave them what they needed! Great job coaches and player’s! Quote

That's why they had the looooong breaks before most of the kick offs for commercials. Quote

If the breaks were long it was only because the officials were slow. It wasn't because of Texan Live doing the game. Quote
