Houston KIPP Sunnyside at Hardin

Yes, we scheduled somebody I have never heard of and yes, I am sure we will win, at least I hope. These games have been confidence boosters and it has shown in the team. Hopefully, we can continue to be productive and keep injuries reduced to a minimum.

This week, without a RB, I am thinking we will not be as potent on offense. Give me Hardin 40 to KIPP Sunnyside  6

Good luck Hornets

How many of these KIPP Schools are there?  I think the new Conroe School murdered one of them?  Aren't they college prep schools?  Aren't they Houston ISD?

I think they are charter schools. I believe I counted 8 KIPP schools the other day when I did research, but not all play Football

I'd be interested to see if they have an athletic period.  I know these schools are for the "intellectually driven" but who knows.  I have a friend whose niece goes to a charter and they really encourage fine arts over athletics or ag.

Thanks for the reply and good luck this week.

Well there's a dark and a troubled side of life.
There's a bright and a sunny side too.
But if you meet with the darkness and strife,
The sunny side we also may view.
Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side,
Keep on the sunny side of life.
It will help us every day, it will brighten all the way,
If we keep on the sunny side of life.
Oh, the storm and its fury broke today,
Crushing hopes that we cherish so dear.
Clouds and storms will in time pass away.
The sun again will shine bright and clear.
Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side,
Keep on the sunny side of life.
It will help us every day, it will brighten all the way,
If we'll keep on the sunny side of life.
Let us greet with a song of hope each day.
Though the moments be cloudy or fair.
Let us trust in our Saviour always,
To keep us, every one, in His care.
Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side,
Keep on the sunny side of life.
It will help us every day, it will brighten all the way,
If we'll keep on the sunny side of life.
If we'll keep on the sunny side of life

Any updates on the injured RB?

I dont know if he's injured or not. He did not play the 2nd half vs. New Waverly, so I assumed it was severe enough to keep him out for a week or two, if not longer.  I dont anticipate any of the starters to be playing in the 2nd half of this game anyhow, unless we come out flat and make a ton of mistakes.

    • but will he be doing contact football drills mid-season?
    • That was an awesome video!  I feel so proud of these young men.  They proved the doubters wrong.  Bellville should be proud, too.  I know it didn't end like they had hoped, but we've been there, so we can definitely empathize with them.  Great season, Brahmas!
    • Meh.. Everyone knows this. The kid that got injured wasn't lifting weights. Supposedly he was hit with a helmet in his elbow. In my opinion the kid shouldn't have been put in that situation. AD should've told the Varsity baseball players to sit that one out. I have no issues with the lifting or conditioning. However, anytime helmets/pads are on there is a higher risk of injury. This AD showed a total lack of respect for HIS baseball program.
    • Maybe.. however..  Many athletic director / head football coach have lost their job despite the athletic program as a whole being successful.. if the football team struggles.  On the other hand, when football teams are doing great but the rest of the program stinks.. AD/HFC still keeps their job. WOS.  Newton. .. programs as a whole were fairly weak during those many years of football power and very few people even knew it.  Or cared. Yet, AD/HFC kept their jobs for years. Meanwhile, I remember an AD/HFC at Barbers Hill lost his job after every program in the school won district championships and even had several team sports (baseball, softball, girls hoops, etc.) making runs at state.  But the football team was mediocre.  Fired. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that perception is reality.  And the perception is that your athletic program can suck as long as football wins.. it doesn't matter how strong the athletic program is if football sucks.
