Beaumont Enterprise football preview section cover

Recommended Posts

Let's get back on topic.

I am personally very curious to see how United fares this year. New school, new team, new conference. The talent is there in spades; there are a lot of coaches out there who would love to have Ozen's speed and Central's physicality on one team. The question to me is whether the coaching and the experience is there.

I made it home for the Central and Ozen games against PN-G last year, and frankly, I was shocked. There might have been a dozen fans in the stands for Ozen. I know they never drew huge crowds, but I remember the Panthers putting more butts in seats than that. And compared to the Central I remember, the Jaguars I saw in 2017 looked outright deflated. I know this was all following a major hurricane, but Rita and Ike were both just as bad and I remember Central making the playoffs in both those seasons.

If there's one hope I have for United, it's that the Beaumont football programs I remember from seasons like 2009 make a comeback. (And that they find a way to upset North Shore.) Hopefully, this preview will give some insight into how things are shaping up.

Correct, especially when your starting QB gets suspended on Tuesday and the PNG game is Friday.

All perception for anyone looking for a reason to be bitter.

    • This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up From the article: “As a parent, then as a homeowner, if you have some equity in your home, then you can say to your child, you know, ‘don’t take out the loan,’” she said. “‘I’ll take out some of the equity to help you pay for tuition so that you don’t graduate with extraordinary student loan debt, and so that when you graduate, you can do your dream job.’” Essentially, Harris suggested that parents give their kids a leg up in the world by being the ones to take out a loan instead. Except theirs would have much higher stakes than just needing to be paid back — it could mean losing their home. 🤦‍♂️

    • It has been frustrating seeing the lack of coverage from virtually EVERY media outlet.  We (Chester) are in the SE Texas coverage area.  There are no radio broadcast from our area, and Ch 12 is the only one that has even mentioned it.   I know I could have gotten donations to cover a SETX Sports broadcast.  Oh well, water under the bridge - we aren’t as big as Silsbee, WO-S or PN-G.
