JT Barrett

Recommended Posts

@BruceFeldmanCFB: Urban Meyer said JT Barrett has to undergo counseling thru OSU & "forfeited his scholarship for one term" but can earn it back.

@TJMoe28: Never heard of kid forfeiting his scholarship & only suspended for 1 game. Your starting QB is now paying for school?

@TJMoe28: JT Barrett is from Texas so I assume he will pay out-of-state tuition. Urban Meyer is essentially fining Barrett 21.5k. Is this the NFL?

@TJMoe28: Keep in mind a scholarship pays for tuition, books, room/board, & any fees associated with attendance. OSU total is around $43k per year.

@RyanCooperOSU: An Ohio State spokesman said that J.T. Barrett's summer aid is what has been taken away, not his fall or spring tuition.

Lmao!  Smh

If Barrett has been a full time student for at least a year then he has established residency in Ohio and there would be no out of state.  TJMoe doesn't know what he is talking about.

I have first hand experience with out of state tuition and costs for an athlete and that is not true at all. Unless you have established a permanent address and meet some strict criteria, you are considered "out of state".

How many times has this kid been in trouble?

NO ONE was thrown under the bus on strike one. John Boy has so many strikes he's already in the 3rd inning.

I agree to an extent Pat but he was constantly questioned from the first time he had a run in, and he is well into the 3rd inning if not later in the game........I was one of them saying this kid needed discipline. But with Barrett everyone seems to be ok with a slap on the wrist. I believe DUI is something that needs more punishment as it can affect many folks just driving down the road with their family.

I agree.........but look, all schools have them. El Ced was pretty well known in Austin PD as well. Some of it is kids being kids but I do believe that when you are under the microscope like college athletes are today you have to watch yourself.

Exactly. It's not that hard to do the right things.

its not about the action necessarily in college in regards to athletes wrongdoing, nowadays its more about the person/college involved. If said athlete isn't "liked" or college isn't "liked" then its a huge deal while others that are "liked" gets it swept under the rug with little media buzz or absolutely none at all.

Are you saying there is bias based on the likability of the athlete and/or the school he attends?

That is just........just.........absolutely correct

You are right on Johnny's current situation - I think he is well past the 3rd inning myself - and I am one that has defended him and still would like to see him straighten out his personal and professional life cause I do believe he has the talent to have a chance to succeed in he NFL - but it is looking like he is still shooting himself in the foot.

But that being said - Johnny was crucified by many on this site for much less than this guy has done - hell when he went legally to a casino and flashed money some wanted him punished for that - lol.

add in that situation before he even took a snap at A&M too.

Like I said before up above it aint about the action necessarily, its about likability of the person/school. ;)

    • The Middle East is not close and have never been close to a threat on a global (or most important US threat as Russia china) you think the government is more concerned with the Middle East over them? And if either two attacked,Israel wouldn’t be on anybody mind. the UK would and it’s not close the uk is our greatest ally even in the Middle East Uk is our greatest ally. Other than political talking points what have the state of Israel done for the US.   Side bar I started a thread awhile ago about Israel . Few responses.. why is a Christian nation so Eager to defined those who consider the phrases king Jesus, Christ is king offensive.    If we can protest Ukraine we should be able to protest the state of Israel. Take away religion and there the exact same.

    • The problem as well as that all of the social justice warriors, influencers, and instigators repeat these lies in the immediate days after the event, garnering outrage.  But when they're proven false they never go back and rescind their outrage-causing posts, they just move on to the next one.
    • I just find it really hard to believe that Trump will select a VP based on the votes they bring him.  He's going to want a Trumper that will affirm his every move and stoke his ego.  I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I doubt it.  And as you said, in these battle ground states a few tenths of a % point may be enough to swing the whole election.  Trump can't afford a VP who will cost him votes (Noem would cost him full points, not just tenths), but also needs a candidate that will bring in as many votes as possible.  So hopefully whichever Trump disciple he chooses has some political appeal to swing voters.
    • Good news for this district is for the next two seasons your bi district opposition shouldn’t be much of a challenge… Royal may be better next year but other than that the district is pretty rough… Very good chance that it’s a clean sweep though
