PA Memorial beats Lumbereton 75-67

PA Memorial Girls beat Lumberton Gils 75-67.  Game had a lot of fouls called. 1st game I guess for everybody. Both teams will make a good run for District titles and in the playoffs.

Great game. Lumberton had a ton of turnovers and PA definitely took advantage of it. Two great teams played tonight I was impressed with both (besides Raider turnovers) but they should clean that up. I'll say this with all my confidence if Memorial had just a little more depth they would be a legitimate State contender. Fantastic in transition, play great defense, shot lights out from behind the arc and have some size to mix in with those great guards. I did leave a little disappointed with all the whistles blown tonight, both teams were playing clean and good defense and they just kept calling tic tac fouls on both squads. If you have two teams playing hard and clean let em play and put the whistles up unless completely necessary. Rant over :D Both teams are going to be really good this year, cant wait to see what's in store for both.

I had to miss this one because I was at church but I was getting updates and it seemed like a pretty good game. If my updates were right there were 53 fouls between both teams.

Going to be interesting this year to say the least with the new rule changes.....

This is going to be tough to call consistently....  I feel for the refs....

^ Slowing down the game, Inconstancy, frustrated coaches and players and making it harder on teams that press and also making it harder on posts down low. I'm not a fan AT ALL.

New rules wanting to be enforced on hand checking. The only time people put hands on the dribbler is when their beat and trying to feel a way to get back in front . Good defense is still rewarded in slight contact if your in position. You just can't extend and try to control with arm or hand.

It will be a tough adjustment for all . Just like any new rule 5 yrs later it will be as normal as the rest of the book.
