Iola vs Colmesneil

This week Iola travels to Colmesneil to take on the Bulldogs. Iola continued its dominance this year with another overwhelming victory over Burkeville. Colmesneil got their first win of the season over a Sabine Pass team that has yet to score a point in district play and has been shut out 7 of 8 games this year.

 

Last year Colmesneil and Iola battled in what is arguably one of the biggest wins in Colmesneil history as they made a goal line stand to end the game and take the win. It was also probably one of the most intense and exciting games in SETX last year as well. So, with that in mind I am sure Iola has revenge on their mind. And with the way these two teams seasons have been polar opposite of each other I would say that there is a high chance that Iola will be able to do pretty much whatever they want against Colmesneil this year.

 

With a win Iola sets up a battle of district unbeaten when they face Normangee next week (assuming Normangee wins their game) and with the win Iola eliminates Colmesneil from sneaking into the 3rd spot. Colmesneil however is like a wounded animal and is fighting for their post season lives. With a win they have a shot to slip into the 3rd spot if they also take care of business next week against Burkeville.

 

With that said, I believe Iola takes this one with ease. Who do you got?

Besides colmesneils first playoff win in over 30+ years against Axtell that was the most exciting game colmesneil played last year! Colmesneil had a good year last year but was hit hard with graduation and the loss of a great head coach! Hayden Martinez gonna be way to much for the bulldogs this week, Iola gonna win big! Iola probably gonna be district champs no problems! Hope for an injury free ball game, good luck dawgs!
