Not enough kids in High School anymore. No JV or Soph and at times not enough to have one jr high team. You just can't build on
that. They need to go to 6 man. There are no jobs in Newton County. Newton HS is dropping in attendance ever year. Won't be long
before Newton goes down another class. There is only about 13 or 14 thousand people in Newton county (including Deweyville).
A lot of us old retired people live on Toledo Bend lake and have no kids in school.

Jobs are scarce in the Jasper-Newton area except in healthcare. Fewer job growth I mean! However, it is turning into a retirement destination for the baby boomer generation so only healthcare is the job growth right now!
