How long has it been since Brenham was on the outside looking in?

Yea, that's probably the biggest surprise for me in the district this year.   They were 13-3 last year, and you just kind of assume they will always be in hunt.  They did have heavy graduation losses from last year, plus their coach left for Dripping Springs.  This year, their top pitcher has been out some, so they are just not the same team.  They had several errors on the infield last night which is so very uncharacteristic of the norm there.

 I watched the Willis @ Magnolia.  Casey Dixon a freshman struggled because the umpire would call curve ball a strike. It was outside. Ump called it right. That put her in a hole. If she gets the call she's deadly.

Good question about Brenham and the playoffs.

Holder was 3-4 with 4 RBI's.  Montgomery has lots of hitters and they are definitely looking like a 1st place team.

 

Also, Magnolia West defeated Brenham 11-4 today to stay in a tie for first with the Bears.

A couple of big games tonight, pending rain.  Magnolia West heads to Montgomery to see who will sit alone in 1st place.  Montgomery won the first battle 17-6.  I think the Bears will win again.  Also, Waller heads to Willis where they could effectively wrap up a playoff spot.  Waller won the first meeting 5-0.
