Even with the missing players, special teams is what put WOS in a big hole. Blocked punt taken in for a score, 7-0.Fumbled punt at own 8 gave China Spring a short field, 14-0. Cougars then grind a drive out for 21-0. After a trick play makes it 21-7. China Spring’s 2,000 yard rusher breaks it for a huge TD run, 28-7. Then Cougars recover pooch kick that set up a 52-yard TD pass, 35-7. 
 
Mustangs fumbled another punt but was able to recover it.
China Spring was a top 10 ten team for part of this season. They took advantage of every mistake. A full strength WOS would’ve still been in trouble with those special teams mistakes.

This is what happens when you’re a good team that plays in a weak area...imho...

I would venture to say that lack of execution is playing a part as well. 

Confidence and momentum is  building for the players and coaches  at WOS. Moving forward!

I agree. But its week 7 and QB hasn't gotten any better. U have to do things he can do or go with the sophomore. He throws the ball better.he made a few mistakes but haven't we all. And u totally give up on him.lord knows I'm trying to knock #2 the kid isn't accurate at all. Makes a few plays here and there.

I would rather pay to get in and they ear mark that money to fix the score board that has not worked properly in years.A team that has been to 4 straight trips to state and won two of those should at the very least have a working score board.Rant over!!!

And I don't mean no disrespect to anyone on here.and if y'all truly knew me.u know I don't by what I hear.this is thing.and I probably said it wrong.i luv everyone!! But I also know alot.w.o isn't as talented as years past.so ppl fans needs to realize this.time bring change.and bcz we been winning with alot of talent then other 4a schools.its catching up with us.im not here to criticize kids.some kids are better than others.and this year and last year our kids need coaching even more.i go to practice and smh bcz as an OC u can't just call a play and expect it to work.he misses alot in practice.so u have do things he can do.or go with the soph.who has better QB factors.just has simplify things for him.even on defense if u really watched on tape.its blown assignments in the 50 defense.only again we don't have Mandel turner,or MJ on dline.or experienced LBs.jts a trap block that shredded w.o.the nose takes on the double team and goes down.and LB had no clue to step in the hole.i guarantee u on 3 of his runs he didn't get touched.these kids are trying!! And that's why I say coaching is needed really bad.CT knows everything a team will do on offense. But he has to understand that some of these  kids don't get it at all.my heart goes out to #34.bcz I know that kid is trying hard.but if y'all would have actually seen that everytime he took his self out the play.u can't blame a kid for what he don't know.and one of the posters said it best.everyone thinks they will be fine.u just got said it what it is.reality w.o is abt 4 players a way from been really gud.so if anyone kidding themselves on thinking the qb,guards,LB will get better.i can't see it.they are trying.funny part is if we had anyone to help the QB 3steps and throw.he probably would have thrown for more yards in a game than anyone in w.o history.

I truly wish I had never said anything about the Black / African American wishes in WOS. I'm just confused as to what this race of people want to be called.  Guess I've been watching to much tv because it seems most Southeast Texas Blacks are perfectly comfortable with being called Black.  I also should not have said that I know what the fans at WOS want.  Because I don't , I just have an opinion.   Sorry DJ  Love ya Bro and hope I didn't cause any unwarranted harassment toward you. Love your enthusiasm for your team.

I agree that fundamentals are key but shouldn't these fundamentals be taught in our extremely successful Lil Mustang league when these kids get their first taste of football and not at the varsity level? I understand reinforcing the fundamentals but to have no knowledge of them at this point says the coaching ball may have been dropped long before this season started for some. Or maybe some hard heads are just uncoachable...  JMO

No Dj sometimes the wrong post gets quoted in the wrong box, I have done that before myself, lol. Hey we are Mustang Nation I love my city and my people it’s all good. I agree the QB needs fundamentals, sometimes summer camps are needed it gives the kids an outlet, parents a break, and the coaches are appreciative of players seeking to get better. My problem with putting the blame on the coaches is this: coaches do not cause fumbles, coaches do not throw interceptions, coaches do not hike the balls over the QB head, coaches do not miss tackles, players have to own it it’s on them ect. We win as a team and we lose as a team, it’s a learning experience for sure.

Just give Jasper respect and move on.  Bringing up race, downplaying Jasper's win by saying their a one trick poney or a one man show, and downplay a coach's classiness...  Geez, just take the loss.  You're defense got torn to shreds make adjustments, and get ready for district next week.  Believe me, you should get the D together because you don't want a repeat of this game to happen next week...

Lol, dj y'all get/have gotten much respect, stop playing victim on all your post, win or lose mustangs will go do their thing in 4a, so will the eagles in 3a "almost" 2a, let's just get both teams out of this game with no injury's, may the "better" team win! Good luck

Great season Mustangs. I just hate that it ended like this.
What happened to the wide receiver screen that is called 20 times a game until everyone is sick of seeing it but still gaining 5-10 yards a play? Today was the time to use it. Make the big boys run sideline to sideline. Did not call it any. Chaka was scared, let him dump it off to the speedsters.

I would like to say from a person that truly admires High School dynasties.......WOS is the true definition of that. That is a program to be proud of and I know you are. You lost in the title game, but those kids never quit. NEVER. Even when all odds were against them they never quit. That's something that all WOS fans should be proud of. Congratulations guys on a GREAT RUN. Y'all have lots of talent and I don't think we are even close to seeing the end of this. 
 
On another note XXman you should find another hobby. Football makes you miserable and you should find something that makes life a little more enjoyable. You bitched and whined and moaned about everything those coaches and kids did. It's easy to be a fan when all is good. Those kids deserve better than that. 

99.9% of the teams in Texas wish they had WOS problems and coaching.

Offseason starts tomorrow. Wos has been on the hands down best period in SETX football, 2014-2017. 
What a series of accomplishments. Hats off to the Mustangs.
