Westbrook best team in the area no doubt,
my only harp with them is The Defense..no matter how Good Westbrook is rather it was 08 when they had 3 Future NFL players on the team or the 2010 team when they were ranked #5 in the State, they're Defense is never aggressive and physical like your P.A Memorials or W.O.S.. Even when Central is good it's cause there defense is physical and an aggressive. Westbrook just finesses teams with there offense which is why when they run into the spring Westfield or the Katys in the playoffs they get punched in the mouth and fold .
I think next week against the woodlands will tell us alot on if Westbrook is for real or not ..i sure hope so they have the talent level, now they just need the attitude

Honestly I wish the outcome would have been in our favor but it wasn't. I truly believe that this game just made us a better football team. SO many learning opportunities to take away from this game.
Ehlinger learned that these are men and not HS boys he is playing with. I have a feeling that's one of the last times somebody comes and strips the ball away from him. He took care of the ball better in the second half besides the stripped fumble. I have a feeling him and Shackelford will be working a lot together on getting the snap down correctly. I still think Shane throws a more accurate football but I don't know if he can be as elusive as Sam.
Young Reggie Hemphill-Mapps learned if the ball is about to go into the end zone then leave it alone. He was just trying to help his team, but sucks being on -2 yd line.
That touchdown before half, I put on the coaches and think they will be better prepared for that situation next time. It was a great play call to get the ball to their best player.
We have a bye and that is great because we need to heal up. I have a few personnel questions I don't get but doesn't everybody.
    1. Why are they so in love with Porter
    2. What happen to Duvernay (WR), I figured he be a big time playmaker this year.
    3. It seems every time Ehlinger threw a completion, they take him out and bring in Heard. Just seems like it would mess up his rhythm.

Backup Quarterback, two backup OL, couldn't run the ball to help out backup quarterback. Playing #4 University of Spoiled Children, you would think little ole Texas would have gotten blown out by four TD. Instead you got two defenses that shut down the run game on two running teams. Also, 2OT. Hookem Horns!     The University of Texas Longhorns.

I think you are gonna see most of the schools in the area operate on that time table.

I kind of figure that 22-5A will start playing football when district starts at the earliest.  Most of the schools in 22-5A are scheduled to play schools in the Houston area.  With Central's week 2 opponent being Katy Tompkins, in Katy, I doubt that's going to happen.  I doubt BISD starts school on the 5th, more like the 11th in my opinion...

Good list, but I think you need to add 2003 North Shore ..Thats a team that was very underrated and is probably one of the best as far as talent and coaching

Carter was maybe more talented that Yates (barely) but Yates was a better team IMO....
Carter just gets talked about more because of the grade issue and the robberies afterwards...
the 30/30 is a must watch though it was outstanding

I could be looking at the wrong schedule for 88 Carter team but if it's correct they won 5 games by 7pts or less and had a tie with Duncanville. If they were the best ever there must of been a lot of teams they played that were absolutely loaded too. 85 Yates was much more dominate in their championship run.

They very well did...Bulldogs had hands on hips after the 1 series, while the pirates never really looked like they got tired ..S.O to the Deweyville Coaching staff

He has to improve as an overall passer this year so each test is important. This test run is also good for the o and d lines

Yea , like I stated in a post before, they got some grown men at the brook this season and probably the most talented team in the area this year..Would love to see how Johnson looks against these guys .

Pirates looked very good. These two things above played a big part in that. Kelly looked much improved also. Hats off to them they played hard.
Coach Prouse and his staff looked well prepared with what they wanted to show during the scrimmage . If Pirates can avoid the injury bug this year they will surprise some people. Very proud of the sportsmanship showed by both teams in the scrimmage Friday.

No argument here my friend , just an opinion..I do agree tho, Pound for pound year in and year out W.O.S is probably Andy most likely the best team in the area

Cant knock West Brook, but you cant throw out WOS. I don't believe West Brook is the best Team in the area. To be the team you have to  Beat the team and it all starts with defense and that my friend is what WOS builds around year in year out. Lose some players, fine next man up do your job, plain and simple. We have some very good talented teams in the golden triangle area, PAM always has a stable full of horses, I think if they had Better coaching they would be a force not that they aren't a challenge as they are now!

Hats off to Coach Prouse and his 23 Pirates....What they lack in talent and numbers, they make up for in heart, conditioning and discipline. I didn't notice Kelly's "first string" or "second string" as they rotated positions every 6th play. The Pirates, on the other hand do not have that luxury. Kelly has a ton of talent, paired well with strong coaching and should do well this year. Good luck Bulldogs! The small band of Pirates capitalized on conditioning and discipline to best the Bulldogs. The new offense Prouse has instituted will rely heavily on these two characteristics to be successful. Great job and good luck to both programs and all the young men who choose everyday to work hard in the South Texas heat.

I was in attendance, Kelly's 1st string looked like the better unit but Depth will really be an issue...After the first series they were tired from going both ways, and the 2nd string wasn't to good from the looks of it
For the pirates that offense will really help them be able to slow things down and control the clock,..That last drive was pretty good, methodically drove the ball down the field
no bias just coming from Mississippi and decided to stop and check out some Texas HS football
