I saw this game.  SC lead the whole game and withstood every Atascocita run.  I’m not sure if credit should be given to SC defense for slowing ‘Cita down or for their offense for making big plays when they needed to.  But I just don’t see how this team lost to CE King.  I guess any team can be beaten any day.

    DING DING DING

BU lost to Booker T Washington. While BTW is a good team ive seen BU beat better. No way that happens if they play agin, but again Basketball is all about match-ups

  2. I hope TCU wins but UGA imo will dominate in the trenches. They were able to mov Ohio St, but who knows TCU seems like a team of destiny, so we shall see.

Still what TCU has done thus far is amazing. after going 5-7 last year and parting ways with the best coach in school history, hats off to the horn frogs.

Who ever thought they'd make it to a college football playoff and championship before Texas and A&M.

In bold: I thought that was their best chance, that squad was loaded. Hated that Jackson got hurt, the freshman replacement wasn't awful but he couldn't do what Jackson could do. That kid was special.

It's not like NS has dominated Duncanville in any of their games played. They needed a miracle to beat them the first time. Duncanville's all everything quarterback got hurt right before the rematch, and the 3rd game was a close low scoring affair.

I say they finally pull one off. Just barely though. Their running back Durham has been outgaining some of their opponents all by himself. Rushed for another 200 yards last night. Kid could set records if he got the ball enough.

I believe that 2018 team was as stacked as Ive seen.. D1 players on top of D1 players. I feel that was D'Ville best chance of winning the title. That NS team was just as talented but young and end up winning on a hail mary!! What A Game!!!

It was great to see some good vibes for Beaumont HS sports. In fall ball this weekend Beaumont Westbrook beat Beaumont United 54-51. Aside from missing players that are playing football and not having he actual coaches what are you guys thoughts on the game and upcoming season. I really like what I saw out of the young Westbrook group. BU are already gonna be there when its all said and done even with moving up to 6A. Looks like the Beaumont area is in for a treat watch some good hoops this season!!!!

Westbrook has some good ones coming up, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them give BU all they can handle and maybe even beat BU this season...

BU will definitely still be a top team but I think they'll miss Arceneaux  but with the #2 player in the state I'm sure they'll be a force again this season as always

Not sure what lamar needs to do to become competitive

I'm thinking the same, their in one of the best hotbeds for recruiting in the country...SETX so you get to recruit pretty much all of Texas and Louisiana, along with most of the south, so my guess is it has to be the administration/coaching.

Reason I say coaching, No way with the plethora of talent you should be running the triple option offense.. I believe a good coach can come here and win..

Reason I say administration, for a newer program I do believe we should have better facilities then what we do but I also understand Lamar isn't a power 5 school where money is falling, but in this huge Oil area I'm sure the funds can be raised to make this program elite

  7. In my honest opinion I think you guys are kind of blowing this one season out of proportion. Yes WB and United aren't the best but lets look at it

WB was playing for a 6A state championship in 2018?? and the years before that Im not sure you could name me 10 teams in the state of Texas with overall team talent (not talking about wins, I'm talking about talent). Those WB teams from 2005 to 2011 were all loaded with insane talent

Central was a known through Texas for the talent and speed they produced. What they lacked on the interior they more then made up for with athleticism. Stowers always had them at least two rounds deep other than that 03 and 09 season.  The talent on those Central teams was undeniable

Ozen always produced top athletes, Honestly imo that side of town always produced the best athletes in Beaumont and I was born on the Northside of Beaumont off Magnolia and Hale. And alot of the athletes from the Pear Orchard, Southend and Avenues found their way to Westbrook but still and all Ozen was still tough and always produced .

Basically what I'm saying is most schools even your most consistent programs go through rough patches.  Its a cycle, I wouldn't sweat a few bad seasons

Open enrollment back in the 2000s is a big reason for West Brook's surge in football. I was zoned to Central because I grew up and lived in the north end but open enrollment made transferring to Brook easy.

A lot of star WB guys back in the 2000s would have been at Ozen and Central if zoned schools were mandatory at the time.

True Christian Michaels comes to mind lol..

They are that!  Didn’t mean it as a slight.

Proof what a great coach can do for a program.

My father coached with Thomas Brooks at Ozen, and against Arthur Louis Ozen teams while he was at TJ.   Those Ozen teams alone could beat the current United teams with Ozen and Central kids.

Sad for the kids.   They are getting cheated.

Yea those Ozen teams at that time were TOUGH!! and stacked!!!
