where did #1 come from for Nederland? He looks pretty good
-
Well... They hung for a half!!! That is better than last week!!! They put some points on the board.

I'm watching Sulphur Springs vs Jacksonville right now on YouTube, SS looks good to say it's a new system they had to learn on both sides of the ball.
Did SS get the W?

If it gets that bad it'll be some houses for sale in Nederland.
I was being funny but It will be bad.

Probably 5 or more dropped passes. QB threw extremely inaccurately. We have a kid at RB that should be our #1 WR. Defense has a couple of very good kids. The rest are average at best. Very bad football. Very poor coaching. Very poor execution.

This is smallest and least athletic Bulldog team in years.

Going with Vidor

I'm going with PNG.

I'm happy there were some positives.

Found out from some players that did not quit that a couple of disgruntled senior players that quit in the spring have been on a campaign talking other players into quitting football the last few months. Like I said before, the program is better off without players that have more important interests than Nederland football & the players that will quit because someone tells them too.
I heard that as well.

4-5 more quit yesterday... bad news...

Young team with no experience at QB opening the season at WOS is tough, then going to P.A. home vs. Silsbee then @ Willowridge. Dogs could be 0-4 going into the Dayton game. Hopefully one of the QB's steps up & coaches find some of that old uncle Larry winning magic to pull out some early season upsets.
I think we are looking at an abysmal 1-9 or 2-8 season. I REALLY hope we can find some magic!!! My daughter is a varsity cheerleader and a senior. I want her to have something to cheer about her last season!!!

The Dogs are young, just read that 6 sophomores are starting on Defense.....New qb, and plenty of holes to fill. I'm in the camp that believes Monte and company squeeze every drop outta what they have to work with.....If anyone here believes we need a change let em drag and address the School board.
They are young because the core walked. Nothing would make me happier than seeing them succeed.

Well I know the talent pool must be down, however Nederland should make the playoffs every year with 4 teams going to the playoffs. PNG doesn’t seem to have a problem with that
For the 90+ percent of folks on the Barrow bandwagon , if you look at his record as head coach it is not very impressive Yes they have made the playoffs and again should every year. You will also notice that when they were defeated in the playoffs it was a total tail kicking. So, as you can imagine I don’t think the coaching is very good
Look for the Dogs and Santa Fe to battle it out to see who will be 0-10 this season after watching the scrimmage vs HF
I'm with you.. Coaching is not good. My biggest issue which I've mentioned before is the coaching staffs lack of ability to keep players in the program. You have multiple seniors who were starters their junior year just quitting their senior year. Something is rotten... I'm tired of the good ole boy system in big Ned.

Teams have players that leave the program every year, you just don’t hear about It most of the time. Newton has two for sure and may be one more player at this time that played last year that chose not to play this year. This is nothing new to Nederland or any other team, coaches deal with this every year.
Don’t worry about those that left, the team is better off without them. Support the ones that stayed and move on.
We definitely are not "better" without these kids.

If they can't take the heat, or want to focus on one sport so be it. The kids that want to work will be there.
It is the coaching staffs job to maintain relationship and keep those kids in the program. Kids are leaving for a reason. Hopefully I am wrong. I am a DIE HARD season ticket holder for many years. I am passionate about our program. The kids deserve the best.

Interesting, so it's all the coaches fault these players are quitting? Are coaches being too hard or mean? Are the players upset the coaches are holding people accountable, enforcing the rules when rules are broken & quitting? Are the players quitting football to focus 100% on their future MLB, PGA or MLS careers, nothing negative or coaches fault about that? The jury is still out on the png move to run good coaches out & replace with outsiders, it will be year 2 & after to get real results on that.
Fair enough...

Good, the ones that don't want to be there 100% need to leave early, it's best for everyone involved. Barrow needs to invest in the old TEAM, me t-shirts. Uncle Larry never lost any sleep over dudes not rolling with his program😎
These are kids that were the heart of the team last year. I'm losing confidence in this bunch. Maybe we should do like PNG and clean house and bring in OUTSIDE coaches.

Another kid quit yesterday. One of the top WR. Not good...
