Players get tired of hitting their team mates in practice. Nothing satisfies like fresh *meat*! ;D Scrimmages help the coaches fine tune their teams and help keep the kids enthused and focused on the upcoming season.

We scrimmage Woodville this evening.

I'll pick speed over power any day of the week. Most big plays in football are made on the perimeter not between the tackles. Speed kills.

EC vs. Woodville scrimmage has been rescheduled for 6:00 PM on Monday.

This will be my fourth season of SE Texas HS football and something that has surprised me is lack of adequate seating capacity at most of the area schools I've visited. You'd think as football crazy as most people are around these parts, the schools would have better stadiums. I moved from another part of the state and we had schools that played 6 man football that had stadiums with better seating than most of the AA and some AAA schools around here.

And that game was a shootout!

One does not equal five. We had an O-lineman quit the second day of practice. I am not aware of any other varsity players quitting since that time.

We lost some offensive players from last year but I like what I'm seeing from the guys expected to fill those slots. What EC didn't lose from last year were the team leaders. Last year's Junior class were the team leaders and these kids are still demonstrating a hunger to win.
