EC will be plenty motivated for Buna and the other district opponents. Coach Valastro and his staff do a fantastic job of keeping their kids focused and their heads screwed on straight. The coaches & players will not underestimate any of the 24AA but they're not shakin' in their boots either.

The triple option ran out of the wishbone is one of the greatest offenses ever. It an excellent pass offense as well because the split end was guaranteed to have man to man coverage.

BTW ..... i can't stand Jenni Carlson who was the target of Gundy's tongue lashing but I have read the article in question and I found nothing offensive in it. IMO Gundy overreacted and his program will suffer for it.

I could care less which team wins. How would you know that Anahuac can't compete with Buna? Have you seen Buna or Anahuac play this season? Just because Buna ( and Hardin) rolled over Tarkington & Burkeville doesn't make them contenders for a district title.

I would go for 2 and the win. Rationale: At the HS level, odds of making a 2 point conversion vs. kicking a PAT are about even.

What about Port Arthur's own "Little Joe" Washington? He was a member of the '74 & '75 OU Sooners Nat'l Champion teams & I believe he was a member of the Washington Redskins when they won their Super Bowl. I'm not sure if he ever won a HS State Championship.

Donte gets better 'n better every game. He's running hard and protecting the football. With the O-Line finally starting to gel, Donte should become an even greater asset to the team.

Since EC has a bye this week, I might travel up to Hardin and check this one out.

HJ had lots of turnovers. Don't think they made a first down until late in the third quarter. I really expected a closer game.

Last year's game at HJ was a barn burner. EC controlled the first half then our lack of depth became a huge factor in the second half allowing HJ to overtake the lead. EC was very lucky to get out of there with the W. I expect Friday's game will be as competitive but hopefully not as exciting. To paraphrase a quote from a movie "I'm too old for this sh*t!" ;D
