I don't want a hurricane to strike anywhere but if it's inevitable I proudly adhere to the "better ye than me" philosophy! ;D

Best TE/WR is Vance McDonald for EC.

I think the HF players put more effort in the Friday morning pre-game parade down Buccaneer Avenue than they did playing the game. ;D HF let their mouth overload their arse! -
I think the match-ups between DV, Hardin & Kountze are the most important in 24AA because barring anything unforseen, one of these 3 teams will take the third playoff spot.

EC heard the same line of BS from the HF fans last week and we ALL know how that ended up last Friday night. ;D

Final score EC 33 HF 19 -
I agree it is a much greater disadvantage for the team that has a "day off" before a game. Better to stick with your routine than let the kids stay at home eating cheetos and playing with their X-Boxes.

High Island got hammered pretty hard. I wish the best for those folks.

If HI were to beat DV it would be an event equal to the Virgin Birth or parting of the Red Sea. Not saying it couldn't happen but miracles are pretty rare occurrences. My money is on DV. -

Dang! I would have been in hog heaven about 30 years ago if my school had more girls than boys! ;D -
I think too many people are reading too much into the result of the EC - OF game. I've given OF credit but McDonald saw limited action in that game and Trammell saw none. I guarantee if both those boys had been on the defensive unit the result would have been different. I don't know if the coaches will let Trammell play against HF even though he's foaming at the mouth waiting to hit someone.

Good to see EagleFan01 is taking this setback well. I woulda bet good money this morning woulda found him in a dark corner, curled in a fetal position, mumbling incoherently while clutching his official Curtis Barbay autographed jock strap after the loss. ;D -

Kudos to the Bobcats. They played a hard game and showed a lot of heart by not giving up when they were down by 21 points. EC had a touchdown called back in the fourth quarter that would have made the score 28-0 in the 4th. Strange the reporter for the Orange Leader failed to mention that specific "lost opportunity". Again, congrats to the Bobcats! Looks like they might be on the road to having a successful season. -
Having ACL surgery a few months prior to last season and playing with a pulled hamstring all season tends to reduce a player's speed.
-
Do whut? ??? Trammell had well over 100 tackles last season. Stelly had a good season as well but to put things in perspective, Hardin's defense was on the field a lot longer than EC's defense providing Stelly with more opportunities to make tackles. Perhaps you should be more certain of your facts before posting on the board?

East Chambers vs. Shepherd Week 0 Predictions?

Good advice. To paraphrase Red Adair: "Arguing with EagleFan01 is like wrestling with a pig. Everybody gets covered in crap and only the pig has a good time." -
Ding! Ding! Ding! ........ we finally have a winner! Teach them kids some basic fundamentals and make football fun for 'em and you'll make their future Jr. & Hs. coaches very happy. Another thing I'll add, remember you aint Tom Landry and you aint coaching the Dallas Cowboys. IMO the worst thing a little league coach can do is to allow winning & losing to get personal. At this age it's about teaching the boys how to play football and not winning or losing.

Good write up about the Bucs! We are expecting improvement on the defensive side of the ball this season. What I like about this team is their "team first" attitude. The guys with the "me first" attitude have graduated and been replaced with kids that lead by example. Everyone knows that Tramaine is hell on wheels as an athlete but he's also one of the most modest kids you'll find. A tremendous leader that wants the team to excel and gives his best individual efforts to facilitate that end. Trammell & McDonald may not be as athletically gifted as Thomas but both are leaders on this team and part of a Senior class that has worked their tails off to prepare for the fall campaign. 24AA will be very competitive but anyone that thinks the Bucs are going to rely on their reputation as reigning district champs is sorely mistaken.

I believe it was Bear Bryant that stated " Better you'd died an infant than fumble the ball" Not very funny but one of my favorites.
