2.
gage wins the next 9, no one cares about the uniforms.. that will be a new statement for eternity... if they lose 5 out of the last 9, the uniforms did it.
He could win state the next 10 years and those uniforms will still be ugly. Shoot next thing you know he will try to run the ball on every down........oooooooops.
 3.

For those of you that are lifelong residents of The Hill, you should know that those are throw back uniforms. They wore the stripes back in the days of glory, late 50's early 60's. Perhaps the uniforms represent a return to glory. I remember those style of uniforms.
They had 1-peice bathing suites back then that covered the legs and looked like pants!  Glory or no glory, I'll take the ALL AMERICAN THONG!   As long as we are running the ball 85%-90% of the time, won't be any glory.
Maybe we could get leather helmets too because those pure white chepos are ugly too. what is really bad is let's say things don't work out for the new coach and he is sent packing after a couple of years.......well the uniforms stay with the JV and then the freshmen and on down soooooo long after he is gone our kids will have the ugliest uniforms in Texas. Even worse is if he does get a third year he will buy the next bunch of ugly uniforms so it only gets worse. Man they are UGLY!!!!! hopefully the vendor did not charge much and just laughed it off provided no one tells who the vendor was.
 4. Luv my EAGLES win or lose but the uniforms have to go. Those are very ugly. They kind of make the Astros taco wrappers of the 80"s look great. :-\
 5.
Scooter, your post headline turned out to be a "spoiler" for me! I got home late Friday night, and figured I would watch the finale Saturday evening. I tape all of them due to my crazy schedule. However, I did glance at SETXSports that evening, and I saw "East Dillon did it!"    :D Oh well, I know "spoiling" wasn't your intention. I am glad you and the others enjoy this great show. I am glad there is another year left! Maybe the East Lions can make a run at state.   ;D
Way to go LIONS..
 6.
Is he going to coach One Act Play too?
Now that's funny. We already have the states #1 coach for that though.
 7.
Whats up with the New Coach/AD running off all of the other coaches in other sports? Is he surrounding himself with yes men? Running off chancellor as the girls BB coach seems a little odd.  I dont have a dog in the fight out there but reading all of these articles in the Baytown Sun has me scratching my head. Seems like Dave Rogers of the Sun too is trying to dig into it as well.
I really doubt he had much to do with it. The board is in control and one of the members is just dying to get one of hi old classmates back in BH. Even though she should not be!!!!!! seems there is only one "YES MAN".
 8. I missed  week one but watched it on the computer. I didn't miss this one. I really liked the mail box on the vacant lot.  ;D ;D
 9.
I just hope he brings back the gold helmets.
Where did the GOLD helmets go???? We haven't played you guys in awhile but it is no wonder you were losing. Kind of like when THE HILL changed helmets in the early 90's. Some stuff you just don't mess with. ;D

We'll see how great things are then. I'm just interested to see what happens the first time Gage sits "Superstar Johnny" during the big game. Then he becomes just another idiot coach that does not know how to judge talent.
WE really do not have any Superstars. Just a bunch of kids who play hard.

I am sure the younger kid will get a fare shot but the new style offense does not fit him as well as the others.
Contenders are Corbin Abshire, Cody Thompson, Tyler Nukem(spelling probably not right), Andrew McMillan, and Preston Townly.
the qb will be townly hands down!
Hands down?  Interesting... I heard he was moving also.
Well let's see. A QB groomed to be the next Drew Tate on the local level at a Running school. Yea he is moving. Maybe to the EAST. ;D
I see the Townly kid out there every afternoon with his dad.  He looks pretty solid as far as passing is concerned.  He might be the go to guy on Varsity this year.  I don't think you can count him out just because he is a Sophomore.  If he's as good under pressure as I've seen him out there practicing, I don't see why he wouldn't be given the shot.  Newcomb can also pass the ball well, but he also showed us last year that he is as good or better on the running plays, he is a very strong kid and can break through tackles amazingly well.    Thompson is another one who can pass the ball really well, is he a good runner?  Speaking of running, what times do these guys post in the 40yd dash?
Hope they know how to pitch the ball to the back on the run. ;D
 13.

The tunnell has already been purchased. You probably can see it on graduation night, the seniors are thinking about walking through it for the graduation night.
The tunnel has been in storage for years.Someone donated it a long time ago. Coach Price told his team that they did not need a tunnel to win.
He should have tried the tunnel the last two years anyway. Nothing else was working. ;D
 14. ;D  OK that makes alot of sense! He comes in from Yankee land and everyone who has been here forever is an OUTSIDER????? DUH? :'(
 15. Coach Price had good times and bad times at BH but mostly good ones and he and his staff along with some great talent that came along at the right time turned the football program back around to te good ole days. It was time for a change though on the Hill and the board was looking for a reason. Losing is a pretty good reason and if you choose coaching for a career then losing is your fault. Good luck to coach Price at H-F and I hope many wins come your way. I really do not understand the continued hate. We got the change that most of the Hill wanted so let the man go in peace and wish him well. Now we just have to figure out how to run the ball 90% of the time with no running backs!!!!! :'(

You guys gotta give this post a rest.  You are wearing out those school-issued computers.  Wonder why so many of you are bashing the new coaches?  I'm sure that tech is loving you and sharing your thoughts.  Not too smart guys!  I think that's why Coach Stump stayed right here.  He knew he wouldn't get any support there just like your new guy isn't getting.
You should expound on that a little. Since you're implying something, you might as well say it.
The "secrets" that Dayton has is how to dominate our neighbors to the south in the one sport that really matters.
Yep, but now we have alot of the same secrets. Just watch!!!!!!

(it's likely) How about beating dayton once a decade like crosby? It sounds like the guy will be able to install a good program, I'm curious to see how long he has before the complaints start rolling down the hill.
EXCELLENT QUESTION! With a good group of athletes currently in 9th grade next year looks to be the weakest Eagle team in the next three seasons (the over all talent level of the athletes in 7th, 8th and 9th or better than what they have in 10th and 11th). My guess.... The new coach better win a playoff game by the time the 9th graders graduate (I put the probability of that at over 50% ) or he will be shown the road.  Curious at what the Eagle football fans think of this.
What would make you think that he would have that long????? :-[ The GREAT NEWS is we have a secret weapon starting next season. Dayton fans will hate it but we had to get competitive. ;D ;D
There you go, splilling the beans.  Not everyone knows we now have a football coach......  ;D ;D
Naw I was talking about the REAL SECRET. Something each and every great football program needs. Dayton has proved it time and again and now we have it!!!! In August the secret will come to pass......... ::)

 20.
I know MHS32, Chancellor will most likely be gone next year.  My belief is that Poole will tell Gage to be the bad guy and he will inform Chancellor that his duties are no longer needed.  You are correct about female coaches, there has already been one there who did as she pleased.
You sure got that right. If she is a male she goes to the pen.
 21.
In Texas, most school districts give you a one year probationary contract.  Your second and third years are also one year probationary which means you can be released without reason.  Other than having a probationary contract, which I doubt the Toon and Chancellor have, they can not be released without reason.
Come on now stranger you know how easy it is to get rid of a MALE who coaches GIRLS basketball. All one momma has to say is he looked at my little darling out of the corner of his eye. Females on the other hand can do what ever they want. :'(
 22.

Ok trucked what happened to the BB coaches house.
By the time Coach made it home from the game (a very close and painful loss), someone had posted a for sale sign in his yard. Just after the last game at home, one of the fine upstanding citizens (parent) poked Coach in the chest and told him: "I hope you enjoyed this game because it will be the last game you coach at this gym." How do we help the new coach? Get rid of the people he thinks are asset to the program. Brilliant. Coach Parsons is an asset to this school. And coach Byrd will be a big loss to the football and baseball program if he is pushed out. This kind of thing has got to stop. If this is the New BH some of you speak of then have at it. I want no part of this. I tried to be positive and let the mindless banter go on, to just visit this site to find out info about the type of OFF / DEF we might be running, but the very people who wanted coach Price gone aren't satified with him being gone, they want everybody gone and look for any excuse bash him and his staff. Truly disgusting. Just give coach Gage your support and let the past go.
Sounds like someone has watch "Friday Night Lights" a few times too many. Maybe we should have hired Rodney King??? I don't know the answer.  :-\
 23.
I am with you bballer.  I am not trying to piss off anyone.  I have also been here a long time and didn't even read this blog until I overheard someone talking about it after we found out Price was leaving.  I was veru disappointed in our previous leadership at the athletic department.   But it wasn't (isn't) just Price who is the problem.  I am hopeful that Coach Gage will see the "true colors" of some of the other coaches and replace them.
I just never understood way most of them (Former Coaches) were so paranoid from day one. Some of them really thought they shood be praised for being a football coach. There may be some who would be a value added employee if kept around but i'm not sure if the baggage may be just too much. :-\ :-\
 24.

i am sure coach gage is very qualified to coach the eagles.  with his record, he has worked with many types of athletes and has adjusted his offense/defense in order to compensate for lesser talent and has rode the good horse when he had an exceptional player.  however, he may never have met the bh fans or parents.  good luck to him and may he continue to have success in the future.
There's no doubt he's qualified and I as well would expect him to be more than capable of making any adjustments necessary to fit the talent level of the players he coaches. As of now, I'm sure he's only met a small amount of the BH fans or parents. However, hopefully the difference we will have with Coach Gage, is a staff of coaches that will not only want to meet the BH fans and parents, but accept the support that the majority are more than willing to give. I realize we have some knuckleheads in this town but we don't have anymore than anyone else. The relationship a coaching staff has with fans and parents is a two way street. If you want respect from parents and fans then you have to give a little respect. By the way, you can't just give respect to a select group and shun everyone else and expect the entire community to love what your doing. Very well said ;D
He said the same thing when his oldest boy was playing at the Hill. I think he thought he had the upper hand on coaches at the Hill and now that has changed. (Nunez and Price being gone). OOPs!  :o
The new system does not fit his "style" of play.
Aww come on. Don't be scared of being a white option QB. There are tons of them!!! Right??? Don't worry about the parent/ coach relationships. We have plenty of underclassmen with parents who feel like tey own the new guy. It will be fun to watch. I'm still a little worried about the defense as well. Hopefully BH will continue to play smash mouth and the DB's will be taught how to defend and look for the ball. Over the past 5 years I have seen a ton of completed passes that almost hit our DB's in the back of the head. ;D
