  1. Goose Creek, Crosby and LaPorte are all down about where one would expect on the school rankings.

I took a quick look at BH vs GC.

GC is 72% economically disadvantaged and 20% low English proficiency.

    BH is 23% and 2%

A quick glance at LP and Crosby show similar though a bit lower than GC.

I would imagine you could look at just those percentages across the state and rank them in that way and get close to what the rankings actually are.

  2. Not all comparisons are made equal.

NS was up on Woodlands 42-7 at half and Westfield 48-11 at the half. They could have won each of those games by 65 had they wanted.

Duncanville was up 7-3 at half on the Woodlands and got a bit lucky to hold on against Westfield. North Shore putting it on Westlake was the last piece of the puzzle in my mind.

    NS by at least 20.

For those of you who are commenting...it's clear you haven't watched either team. For one if Bailey was playing for NS this game would be a blow out, for two DV is one dimensional and NS only gives up 47 yards rushing a game. For three, seeing that NS has a WR at QB this game should heavily favor DV...however DV relies solely on out athleting you and is poorly coached hence why NS has won state titles against them with lesser talented teams.

    Agreed.

If Bailey playing then NS by 40. As it is, NS by 20.

Duncanville struggling with Westfield let's me know it's not quite the athletic juggernauts of the past for Duncanville. That's not good for them, because they certainly aren't going to out coach you.

Seems to me Westfield shouldn't have turned over the ball, penalties and turnovers seem to be a theme of how Westfield has lost big time games over the past several years regardless of who the head man is.

I get it but what I am getting at is that NS is a lot better than Duncanville.

Coach S said on scoreboard live he was glad to get everyone in the game.

I saw CT punt on 1st down when it got that bad with the running clock. Other team 3 and outs. Then he got mad cause KJ didn't signal fair catch and the kids weren't blocking on the return. So he put the kicker out there on 1st down. And he makes that FG too. Only time I ever saw CT take the headset off that early. He just stood there on the sideline the rest of the 4th and clapped his hands like he was a fan.

It happens, and in some cases can't be avoided. I agree it's hardly worth celebrating that trash. But the guy could've been more professional on air.

    Go Gilmer! Loved that part

    More professional?

How much you think they're paying these announcers? It's probably the assistant principal's brother in law calling the game after he got off his shift at the lumber yard.  Not sure how much professionalism can be demanded.

Congrats to Memorial on the win! Barely escaped from a Great Frisco Wakeland team that is from an area that produces great athletes! DFW has greater athletes from SETX but SETX pulled it off!

The reason PAM always has a punchers chance is because they have the best athletes on the field every single time they play. Will be the same against Longview. In fact, I bet there haven't been 10 or 12 games in the history of their school where they haven't had the best athletes on the field.

Exactly in football, and the same for bball! Honestly a revolving door between both communities though, been for years. Some Baytown school have also benefited from Crosby kids that was not wanted.

One of which is a few years away from perhaps being a head coach in the NFL.
