Every new coach shouldn’t be judged until the season after a FULL offseason. Great coaches will make a difference with out an offseason. There aren’t many great ones out there. Over half of ALL hires are done deals with brother in laws or ADs drinking buddies or coaches in THSCA politics which looks good to many Superintendents which means he’s a brown nosed and politicker. I’ve worked for 11 coaches in 33 years of football. 2 great, 1 average, 2 below average and 6 AWFUL SELFISH for $ only.

Also open campus which North Shore is, makes a BIG difference if the school recruits, I mean markets itself well.😏

Great night and weekend for football. United corrects mistakes from last week and kings all run offense goes into the strength of United defense. United 35 king 21. I’d love to meet all y’all United posters, I’ll be there second half cheering United on to victory. United May have the wittiest group of posters of any southeast team😅😅. Yes Jv but he was there since last spring 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔this whole scenario stinks, parents established residency for a long time. Just saying with new staff at Crosby and thousands of dollars mishandled, he got lost in the shuffle and several teams seem, I said seem (using my 5 years teaching forensics to seniors) to have plotted against him. Is he a bad kid, I don’t know but even bad kids deserve fair rules and laws. I did bad things as a kid, we all did, but we want our rules to be fair, FOR ALL✝️🐻

Yes blocking wasn’t tight, allowed crevices from interior to be exploited. Will or could cost a game.

This district, like last year is proving to be competitive except for Nederland and Santa Fe down, one exceptional player, like I hear that quarterback is could make a huge difference.

Agree with your entire statement. But as a coach of over 3 decades in a wide range of students socioeconomic classes, I would rather coach those poor socioeconomic kids than the affluent kids EVERY day. If you are an honest coach both parents and players will give you 110%. I would go to war with those kids, win but most importantly have the greatest impact on their lives.✝️🐻

 Definitely smell something rotten in Denmark. Look I don’t like kids moving for athletics to live with cousin, aunt, or coaches rent-house, OR LIKE DEMAS TO THE QUARTERBACK HOUSE WHO NEEDS BIG NUMBERS TO GET A SCHOLARSHIP, but when parents move with child and establish residency for whatever reasons, he should be eligible. It seems that several teams in the district know the rules and system and helped themselves by this rabbit trail in forcing the legal quarterback to miss almost half of Crosby district games. I like gamesmanship, when Bob Craft recommended Bill O’Brien to McNair as head coach cause he knew the elder, now deceased McNair ,would shout “ how high” when Craft said “jump!” Just to screw the Texans potential for a decade, I saw ingenuity. But when teams purposely use rules to damage a kid whose parents did right by UIL, that’s wrong. I don’t have a dog in the fight, coached at Crosby, live here, but I just want good fair football. As I said after the Manvel Crosby game, Crosby with the new quarterback is the best team in district. Seems like some district foes believe it as well. Oh well, such is the soap opera life of high school football in Texas. Great—-GREAT 3 days of sports, tonight Astros vs Tampa bay game 5, tomorrow night Nederland at Dayton first half then United at King second half, then Saturday UT vs Okla  bama at A M then Florida at LSU. Been in the biz for over 33, Coach Matthews is as solid as they come. He can beat you with  hissuns or with youruns ( old Bum saying)just has that ability to relate to and get the best out of young men.

New Caney 28 PAM 10. Watched titans last week in a big game and it didn’t seem like the old titans, not much desire, excitement , or joy to play football. Sorta comatose, and new Caney just has a little more talent and better coaching staff.

Yeah, I was surprised. I predicted Crosby to win by 14 cause of rivalry aspect, but WOW. Agree, so much isn’t on the kids. They are falling to that self fulfilling losing mentality quicker each week. Last week against the Hill, they held close a lot longer. Adults need to do better for them. When Cal and Bill O’Brien screw the Texans the players are still millionaires, and they don’t have to walk the hallways in school getting belittled. Dr. Edward Deming, the most famous management consultant of all time said, “it’s never the fault of the worker when results are bad, always the fault of management. “ I hope the management gets it together soon. These seniors deserve quality leadership to learn lessons to carry into their life. Football and the military (if managed correctly) are the best vehicles for this.

Saw the game up until middle of 3rd, then left. (Had a 1 a m frack bus delivery to do). I picked gcm with my heart cause of coaches, Carter and Ragsdale, Former co workers and GREAT role models for young men. GCM is getting better, if they could have finished drives in the first half, different outcome. I see potentially two different teams, gcm is getting better each week like a good stock investment . PAM seems to have regressed from last year, talent wise yes, but there seems to be a waste of talent on the field and sideline. They act as though they are going through the motions, my opinion of course. Oh well, my second pick from the heart, Go UNITED, I’ll be at the Dayton Crosby game. 👍🐻🤔

Upset weekend, United 31 west brook 28.

Only game I saw of gcm last year was at stallworth vs Pam. I was on the phone immediately to CPS for the mental and physical abuse PAM put on the patriots. PAM won the game on opening kickoff, really. Different patriots team and PAM not as good as last year I believe. My guess for this and United brook games are heart influenced. Patriots 28-21👍🐻

Another blocked punt at bronco 6. First goal eagles. Interception Dayton at 1 yard line. Stays 6-0. Dayton ball from own 3.

Barbers hill 6-0  8:33 in first. Blocked punt by the hill, picked up run in from 15 out after Dayton had ball for 5 minutes several productive runs but penalties and the blocked punt got the hill on the score board. Dayton is still in flybone offense.

What is the name and # and classification of the new quarterback from GCM?

Football Friday nights in Texas, we need to be thankful to continue to relive our youth each Friday. Great night at the Hill, strong southeast wind, 15-20 and comfortable temperatures with not much humidity or the wind could be fooling me. Dayton needs to start well to be in it. In warm ups Dayton was in single back four wide. I haven’t seen them this year, but I recall someone online  say they went to a running flex bone look in earlier games. If they were, it looks as though they may change tonight. Canned rap instrumental on loud speakers pre game ugh, can schools not just play songs over their expensive sound systems.?? Crosby did this last year and it was also bad. Oh well, know what you can control. If it was me it would be Wild Cherry, Earth Wind and Fire, Van Halen, AC/DC, Ohio Players, and Johnny Cash. That would get us old timers fired up.   Good luck to both the Broncos and the Eagles.
