I would guess CT won't be around campus when the new guy arrives. There doesn't need to be any confusion about who's in charge. For certain, it doesn't matter who they hire, WOS will be fine, students will not leave, tickets will continue to sell and most everyone will be OK. That is, until (if) they lose a district game, lose to LCM, lose in the first round. Then it will all start to unravel.

Some new coaches want to clean house and bring their own staff in. A proven coach may want more money than they are able to pay, maybe more than coach T made. Highly proven coaches don’t move for cheap.

None of us get to review the resume, sit in on interviews, be apart of negotiations including money, support staff, etc. There’s more to it than a list.

I’m a WOS fan and I fully understand the strong concern for the right fit of the head coach and interest of all applicants. If the WOS supporters had as much interest in applicants when hiring a principal or other administrative positions, WOS would excel in more areas than just football. As someone said, there’s more important things than football.

Gary said on today’s broadcast that he’s gotten a lot of calls and there could be some things going on behind the scenes. We’ll keep out fingers crossed.

KOGT has been the only pipeline of local news with weekly visits with the judge, LIT Orange, county and city meeting minutes, police reports, local business promotions, charitable events, etc. Dang, as I’m listing them its becoming more evident that Orange County will hurt without KOGT. Furthermore, KOGT promoted many school events other than football. They broadcast, baseball, basketball, softball as well. These are programs that attract less attendance but still attracted a radio audience. It won’t take long after their closing to realize the true impact.

I’m shocked. As an Orange County resident and daily listener or website visitor, this is a tremendous loss.

I disagree. Several local schools have the potential to make a deep run to state in the next few years. If the right talent comes along and no injury bugs. Vidor and LCM could have potentially went even farther without injuries. We all know a turnover or two can make a difference as well at that level.
