  1. The Raiders didn't stand a chance without their starting point guard. The Ozen pressure ate them up all night, even when the second stringers were in. Not that it would have changed the outcome, but they at least could have made a game of it. Rough week this week for the Raiders with Central coming to Lumberton on Friday.
  2. Actually there's a 10 run rule in baseball. The only way a team could continue batting in the 7th up by 10 is if the other team is the home team and bats in the bottom half of the inning. I would imagine you WOULD keep batting if it made it all the way to the seventh before you got ahead by 10 runs.
  3. When I say "internet journalists" I am most definitely not talking about forums such as this. This is what it is, an internet forum in which anyone can say anything their heart desires. I'm talking about people that get paid to be journalists, there are several at ESPN, that rush to be first with unsubstantiated sources and in turn, spew false information. You're WAY off base on what I was speaking about.
  4. I was kinda wondering why it hadn't made the news, but that makes perfect sense. That's the professional way to do things, unlike the so called the internet "journalists" out there that are more worried about being first instead of being right. Kudos
  5. If I was a t-shirt fan, I'd pick someone with a better record bud. Lived in Hot Springs when I was a kid and have followed them ever since. I root for aTm because I figured anyone that hates TU can't be that bad. To further prove my point, in the NFL, the teams I root for are the Cowboys, Texans, and the Raiders. ;-)
  6. Not sure what that means, but thanks I guess. Oh btw, WPS!!!
  7. How'd that bowl game go for y'all this year?! I mean, there's like 75 of them.
  8. Moved on to where they at least got a semi-even shot at things. Some schools don't need to stack things in their favor to win.....oh snap, wait, they still suck :-)
  9. Yup. TU has all the power, but they still suck lol. :-)
  10. TU basically runs the conference with OU as second fiddle. The finances of the league GREATLY favor them. I don't really have the time to write a dissertation on the subject, but it's a well known fact. Google Big 12 finances and read for 10 minutes or so.
  11. He was sent home merely 2 weeks after giving a speech to the super gold winners about how to adapt to college life and taking advantage of the opportunities your physical skills afford you. That is a FACT, NO judgment or "judgement" as you say passed in that statement at all. Pardon me if you're from England. The kid needs to act on his own words it sounds. I wish him the best. He's a physical freak.
  12. Houston has done really well as a coaching springboard. They get a good to great 2 or 3 years out of these guys that are looking for that "bridge" job. If Herman can beat Boomer Sooner in their first game next year and run the table, they will most probably make the 4 team playoff. The Cougs couldn't ask for more. I highly doubt they change conferences any time soon. It most definitely wouldn't be to the big 12. That conference is set up to be SO skewed towards TU and Sooner it's stupid.
  13. Good move for Allen but I'm not sure if Herman will be around for his debut. Another season like the one they just had and the big boys will be courting him even harder. He will be more than deserving of one of the HC jobs at one of the top schools. The Houston job has been and always will be a springboard job for great coaches. They know that tho and it works for them.
  14. Ugh. Saw this a couple days ago. Tear jerker.
  15. Usually in these situations, the parents are a major part of the problem.
  16. You said IS on the hot seat not WAS buddy. Misinformed or informed with old info, either way, wrong.
  17. It is true they have big time boosters. Arkansas may be a poorish state but there are quite a few big time industry leaders located in the state. Walton, Tyson, Reynolds, Hunt, Dillard, Jones, Lindsay, etc are all big time boosters. Bielema will be around for a while unless he really craps the bed. If Devwah wants to go on to the next level, he's going to a pretty good place to get there. Arkansas sends quite a few RBs and O linemen to the league. Alex Collins will be playing on Sundays for someone next year.
  18. I would hope so. You go cover sports as a job. I'm a little jelly. Have a good one. Headed to watch a bball game myself.
  19. The Beaumont one covers the entire area...up to Jasper, over to East Chambers. It is actually more of an accomplishment than making all district. The others are just silly. That's just my opinion. Don't take it so personal. You obviously work in a "public" type field. It seems like you would be a little used to criticism and critiques, but maybe you're having a bad day. I hope it gets better. Chin up. :-)
  20. Pretty silly to select a "Super team" for such a small area anyway imho. I guess the Vidorian and the Lumberton Ledger should start publishing their "Super Teams" lol. Kinda pointless, filler. No biggie.
