  1. So much for protection. The O-line leaks worse than a colander! The line play on both sides of the ball is pathetic. The D-line seems to have packed it in for the year.
  2. I hope they give him some protection. His backup is a senior receiver that last played qb in high school. 3rd string is Kendrick King. Luckily Morse usually gets rid of the ball quickly. #PeckEm
  3. It's definitely not lack of effort. Woodard will probably get a pass due to injuries. They're down to a true freshman QB with a true freshman walkon as backup. True freshman RBs also. Someone needs to fall on the sword tho. Losing to HBU is unacceptable. My guess is the OC is toast. His play calling wouldn't make it in 22-5A. Run, run, and pass on 3rd and long is easily defended if you know it's coming. From what I've heard by the second half the HBU defense had figured out the offensive signals and verbage and it never changed. Easy to defend a play if you know it's coming. Krautz looks to be the real deal and Morse looked impressive in the little bit of playing time he was in. Hopefully the coaches keep morale up. The defense is much improved from last year.
  4. The truth is Neumann took a risk he thought was worth taking by playing a player that hadn't been cleared yet by the UIL. It came back to bite him. I'm sure he was fairly certain the player would be approved. It was a calculated risk, but in any gamble there's a chance of failure. That's why all those casinos have such nice facilities. ;-)
  5. The difference is pretty subjective to each individual. Kinda depends on who initiates the banter in the first place.
  6. Wow, that will whittle down the staff considerably. Most of them are homers like the rest of the posters. ;-)
  7. Play calling was much better in the second half, but it was too little too late. The had better right the ship quickly. Allen looked better than he has all fall practice.
  8. Despite previous comments on other threads, maybe, just maybe the players that graduated last year were pretty decent. These things come in waves at a smaller school. After beating a King-less HF, fans thought the Raiders were going to be world beaters. A good team has to overcome refs, injuries, and yes, idiot announcers. Hopefully the Homecoming atmosphere will get the Raiders back on track on a roll through the rest of district play.
  9. I haven't seen a thread on the Cardinals. The posters on the Bigredinsider forum seem a little antsy with their 0-3 start. Thoughts?
  10. Hoping for a good, injury free game on both sides. A Raider victory would be awesome. Neither team has been tested at all, so it's kinda hard to predict the outcome imho. History is vastly in PNG's favor of course. The Raiders looked like world beaters against a King-less HF. I don't want to hurt any Longhorn fans (at least the HF ones that I don't loathe like the Shorthorned ones) but they are in for a long year. They didn't look good at all. I mean AT ALL. Lumberton's O failed to do much in the little bit of the Porter game, stalling out each time. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised. The Raider's defense looks pretty decent with the couple returning from injury last year. Both lines look decent too. Again, praying for an injury free great high school football game..... P.S. If anyone can steal the comma key from class-99 Indians, I will buy you a steak dinner at Saltgrass!!
  11. A big shout out to the delusional Georgia administrators that fired Richt. Thanks!!!! :-)
  12. Sad story. He sounds like a great, christian kid.
  13. Why is that? Lumberton beat Nederland at their place earlier this year.
  14. I'm assuming the weather made a 3 way playoff impossible. Congrats Raiders! Yesterday's game was well played by both teams.
  15. Whoever wins the Lumberton/Vidor game most likely gets the 4th spot.
  16. Ugh, that's three tough games in 5 days for Lumberton. Pitching is gonna be thin. I guess 2 out of 4 gets them in if one of those is Vidor.
  17. I'm assuming Young will be on the bump tonight, for the Goose Creek game, and the final home game with Nederland.
  18. If not for the win at Nederland by the Raiders, I would say they're toast. Three out of four of their remaining tough games are on the road. They have a tough run in the second half but their best pitcher should be rested up and be able to pitch in three out of the four tough games if everything goes well.
  19. Twitter isn't the end all be all that some seem to think it is.
  20. Your opinion is worth about two cents imho.
  21. None. Babin is awesome. Coaching is 80% dealing with people and 20% X's and O's. Anyone that's ever coached on any level should know this. I could NEVER coach for a living, EVER. Having to move your family after a couple lackluster seasons would seem horrendous to me. On the other hand, you pick the job you want knowing ahead of time EXACTLY what you're getting into, so no sympathy here. The boy's baseball and basketball coaches at Lumberton make their own beds. They really need to be more in tune to the kids they coach. It's in their best interest in the long run. If not, go into another line of work. Rant over.
