    870 is a good gun

I have mine for over 40 yrs.

    It has never jammed

Mine jammed once when I accidentally cycled a piece of cane lol. The good thing is they're so easy to disassemble, I did it right there in the blind. I even dropped the bolt assembly in the mud. Put her back together and went right back to hunting. Good hunting to you sir. I'll forgive your burnt orange affinity. ;-)

I have been hunting and killing ducks for over 50 years. So you can not impress me by naming gadwalls, baldpate, sprigs, and  mallards. Spoonies food source is the same as other puddlers. Which include all these great ducks you named.

I never stated to killing spoonies on purpose. I need my bag for bull sprigs.

I had to smash their head to hide them in the mud

Have you ever seen a spread of over 300 bull sprigs?

And you must be an idiot to pass on teal.

You must use an auto shotgun too.

And Grinnells are good. But not as good as Poulans!

You'd figure after "50 years" of hunting and killing ducks, you'd get better at recognizing them on the wing. Especially a spoonie, my god that's one of the easiest. Smashing ducks you kill in the mud is pretty unethical, also illegal. I shoot teal on occasion during the regular season, but prefer to fill my bag with big ducks, usually mostly greys. I use an 870 express btw. I've had it for about 30 years. Autos are too heavy and prone to jam. Good talk. :-)

    Spoonies are not fish/clam eaters!

figured as much being a razorback fan

Shovelers most definitely feed on shellfish and other crustaceans bud. I let them pass and wait on good ducks such as grey ducks, widgeon, pintail, and the occasional mallard. I even let teal pass. If you're shooting spoonies, you need to find a better hunting area or learn how to set up decoys and call. Each to his own though. You probably eat Grinnell too. ;-)

That's what I figured. How'd that 0-4 with Jones, Daniels, Shark, and Christmas-Giles feel yesterday bro?

How does it make you feel any better that those other $EC schools beat us yesterday when you couldn't even beat Baylor? Quite frankly, celebrating their success is only going to lead to your misery in the future. I mean, you do realize you're going to get sodomized by those teams for the next several years, right?

I don't know... Guess I'm just a stupid sip that doesn't understand the almighty aggy logic.

Actually the Razorbacks are and have been my main team my whole life. I started rooting for the Aggies in addition because I figured anyone that hated TU would be worth rooting for. ;-)

As a dad that went through a recruiting period with my son - only a 2 Star - but still recruited by LA. Tech and some other smaller D1 schools - I can tell you I feel for these 17 and 18 year olds that are making one of the most important decisions on their future and the pressure that the coaches and recruiters put on them is immense.  Many I feel make the wrong decision for them but the way the NCAA is it is hard to change without a major penalty.

Very stressful, especially for kids that have been told their whole life to never tell adults no and to respect their elders. I don't fault the college coaches at all btw. It's a flawed process created by the NCAA that pays a LOT of grown men that work for them LOTS of money. They have no incentive to make it better.

Well I talked to Justin a while ago and I could not respect a high school player more right now than what I do for Carr. The story will be up on panews.com here in a bit.

As I wrote last Sunday, remember...these are high school kids making very adult decisions and it is the one time they make the call where they play.

Interested in seeing the story. It sounds like it must not mesh with what I'm hearing. Please update when it's available.

Lets not speculate on that like that. Maybe it was just his decision....

Sorry for the assumptions. It's just odd decommitting from a D-1 school and going the JC route. Maybe he wants to put on some weight and try for a better, bigger school. Who knows. Again, good luck J Carr.
