  1. Too many idiots commenting on hearsay on this post. The chance of injury during a project graduation volleyball game is comical. A player looking out for his health that wasn't allowed to go through his proper warm routine is selfish? Believe me, the KIDS know the true story. They're united and I hope they can get it together and have a great outcome in district play. If not, at least they're learning life lessons. Some people seem to think they're best friends with these kids because they follow them on twitter, etc lol. These are some great kids with outstanding character. They also have some amazing, giving parents. Everyone looking for drama will have to look elsewhere, sorry. Good day!

  2. This was a very opportune time to teach this "life lesson" as everyone calls this. Coach knows he MUST win at least one of these three games over five days to stay viable in district. His district caliber  pitching is very limited. He now has his best pitching for the next two games that are much more winnable. GCM has shown itself to be the cream of the district crop so far this year and it's hardly a surprise. Risking injury in a project graduation volleyball game sounds pretty absurd to me but if the coach told them not to do it, that should be the end of it. Here's to a big W today for the Raiders!

i guess.  a lot of schools around here beating a lot of kids over and over again in different sports, but i don't hear about too many of these incidents.  this is at least 3 involving PNG soccer in 2 years.

I guess you're right then. It's PNG's fault the kid kicked the ref. They should punish them I guess. There's an obvious pattern of ref-kick-provoking. ;-)

Whats amazing is no one has questioned the officiating? I would like to know why the head coach of Central was red carded. There are a lot of unknowns out there....

He came out onto the field near the goal to yell at the referee about a non-call. The ref said go back to your bench. Coach kept yelling and got a yellow. Was told to go to the bench again. Said no. Got a red.

What's funny about our little ol' 2A school's is that a few of these kids play on select teams with kids that go to 4 & 5A schools and compete just as well if not better and could go pitch at a big school,  after all they pitch against kids as well ...that go to bigger school's and they pull them up a chair quite often! Lol

I just get so tired of these people from bigger school's downing our kids that go to smaller school's!! They may want to come watch a little 2A school. They may leave a little impressed!!!

    Rant over!!!!

School size doesn't matter as much for baseball, especially for a pitcher imo.

As a coach..you will always have my support.  I love sports...and I know sports.  I talk SPORTS all the time with neighbors, friends, and family members.  To the coaches I know..I never talk philosophy.  I don't give suggestions, I don't question, and I don't talk about it behind their back.

When my kids were growing up I never ONCE suggested to my children that their coach was wrong, and it should be done the way I think it should be done.  Nor did I talk to or about the coach regarding concerns, even when I disagreed with the situation.  That man/woman is being paid to do the job the best way they see fit..so be it.  I had chances to get into coaching.  I didn't do it, so I'll let them do it.

And I do know you're right about the politics.  Which is the EXACT reason I couldn't coach in high school.  I have zero filter..never had one.  I'm very blunt, very honest, and very quick to my point.  My father raised me to be so...so it's what I know.  I can't express enough how undervalued educators are.  People very, very seldom realize the impact they have on the numerous amount of kids they come in contact with.  Situations like this make me sick.

It's sad when a few parents end up running the show. Coach Harris will hopefully land on his feet and be happy when he is eventually in a better place to further his career. Coaching is a tough job because of this very thing. It shouldn't be a "political office" type job, but that's what it can turn into. It happens all the time these days. I also don't have the disposition for it. It was hard enough in little league and youth football to try and keep my mouth shut, but at least it didn't affect my family much. I know I'm aging myself but, the coaches in my day were some mean son of a guns but we respected them. No telling what we all had back then when we weren't ran off to the emergency room. I know I definitely ran a few sprints with shin splits in my day and it hurt like hell. Welcome back to mediocrity HF.
