  1. LCM still ahead of HJ. HJ defense plays tough though. Would be surprised if LCM pulled out more than two scores.
  2. East Chambers needs Jones back at RB to balance things out and open the pass game again. I don't feel like Hardin wins matchups with EC receivers. Hardin's O will be tough for them to slow down and they hold the ball with that O. EC could pull it out, I hope they do, but I got Hardin by 1 to 2 scores.
  3. Broadcasting: Thursday : Hardin at East Chambers Friday: Likely Anahuac at Orangefield.
  4. Buna is alot tougher than their W-L record shows. Worth noting, EC offense was running their freshman 3rd string RB. He's a solid RB, but missing Jones and Caesar affected the run game and the pass game couldn't really open up.
  5. EC might have some help this week. They've been without their main two running backs in the Liberty and Buna games. Had to run their freshman RB, who's been serviceable. If Koby Jones can take the field, it'll help a ton. Get a 1-2 action with Jones as a bruiser and the freshman as a speed/change of pace guy. Hardin folks and Coach Taylor have stressed how good their O-Line is. I believe it, but EC is going on a second week of seeing a similar double wing look. That being said: Might give Hardin a touchdown/two touchdown advantage.
  6. Saw someone mention HF and what they might have for this season. HF could be a wild card, but they'll have weapons on O. HF's really high on their new Soph. QB, Blake Broussard. He won Offense MVP at a 7v7 tournament in Mississippi a few months back. Someone who's in the know there and in the sports world here in our area compared him to Luke Babin and said he could be the best QB prospect HF has had in a long time. Pierce Pirtle is going to do his thing. Still have Dwayne Long, Isaiah Reed, Maliki Adams. Looking at their roster, like a reload year, they graduated around 2/3rds of their 2024 regular season roster. Defense was very senior heavy in that front 7. I think they might have a returner at DE. And maybe Reed, Pirtle, Adams in the backfield. It looks like they might have one returning O-Lineman with Landon Battise. This is my best knowledge, if someone from the HF community has some more insight, maybe they can confirm/deny/add on to what I said. One thing about HF though, having Blake Waggoner at OC is great for them. Him and his dad seem to have their offenses prepared and know how to use what they have. I can see some boat races happening on some of these games!
  7. Hey all, Aaron with the East Chambers / Orange County broadcast here at SETX. We’re looking to expand our coverage in Orange County this season and need a few extra voices on the air (2-4 people). Currently working to confirm, but feel relatively confident that we can field two crews for the fall. It’s the same as any broadcast we do. We need passionate, consistent, and somewhat knowledgeable people who can show up with the provided equipment, run the broadcast, and put out play by play or color. This is a good opportunity for a college student, a retired coach (great for color), and community members/people who love the game of football. Not totally necessary to have experience, but if you come on board we’re expecting you to be decently prepared when we start on Week 1. **We do every broadcast here for free, it’s something we take pride in, but it takes ad sponsor partners in our area to pull some of it off. Just as a further request from our followers, if you know businesses in Orange County that would be willing to partner we’d love to hear about it. ***Likely need a color person on East Chambers as well. People that might want to be involved in broadcasting for the fall OR have sponsor leads can hit me up at [email protected] Thank you. You and the community are the reason we even get do this stuff. We appreciate you all.
  8. Just got a final. 11-10 LCM in Extras. per GameChanger and Holton Pepper
  9. Got a final?
  10. Great job to OF on winning the crown. Their defense held EC pretty well considering how good their run game can be at times. Manning with the 5 TDs on the ground. Felt like things were kind of even in the first half until EC got picked off in the endzone by #10 Morrow and then Morrow ends up with the long rec TD to put OF up by 2 scores before the half. Turning point in the game. Worth noting, that the first two drives for OF in the second half only had two total plays. Manning took it to the house both plays. Probably put up between 75-100 yards between those plays as well. EC had a few less costly penalties than the Anahuac game, but holding erased a big 50+ gain from Caesar. I think he’d have maybe 100-150 more yards this season without the holding penalties on some of his carries. Next year’s match up is going to be so fun to watch. #0 Smith for EC got a TD with #3 Fontenot and #11 Jones as well. Smith was impressive with his speed as always, some folks up in the booth were blown away by how fast he can get just immediately can get 10-20 yards down the field before a defense can react sometimes. Coach Breaux seems to have picked up where Coach Smalley left off and kept OF in good hands. Good job to OF winning district. Good job EC for making playoffs.
  11. Aaron (the broadcast guy) here. My only guess is my data was messing with the stream side. I think I have it better dialed on the sound side now. I think most of the crowd was coming thru my headset when I had the windows up earlier, so I closed them at the half. Thanks for hanging in there with us.
  12. I didn’t really hear about this until after the game, but the score might have been affected some because of some changes Vidor made. Apparently, starting on Monday last week, they took their starting RBs out, put a linebacker at FB, their safety in at QB, QB went to TB, and it sounded like they used a DE as a TE or something.
