That looks about right. But some I think were hold overs from JV scrimmage.

Not sure it will jump that much but I'm thinking at least 2245-50.

I saw that arse-chewing from about 15 rows up. First words out of my mouth: “I’m glad to see the coaches go Saban on him.”
It’s not the first time I’ve found myself comparing PN-G’s coaches to Saban this season. And I’m very, very proud to be able to say that. It’s exactly what we need.

Damn so now making the playoffs isn't even good enough? How many games has your almighty example of Port Arthur won in the playoffs again recently?

Lol that's one coach - the Head Coach. And the pay definitely isn't on par with the rest of state bro. Not when you're trying to get people to relocate to BMT. Assistant Coaches in the Houston area, which is a ton of schools, make on average in the 80s. Nobody is taking a 20k pay cut or more to come to BMT. You're delusional if you think so.

the feeder pattern is a joke as well as how the m.s. athletic program is ran……as far as what I just mentioned they are farther behind than 20 years.

"Evolve or Dissolve"...BISD refuses to do this and this is the result of it! Sad to say but Beaumont don't have a clue on what it takes to run a successful athletic program, they're literally 20 years behind most programs. From facilities, offensive/defensive schemes they're running, systems that's in place, admin etc etc.

What you're going to start seeing more of is families moving their student-athlete kids out of BISD after their 8th grade year is over to avoid all that paperwork mess.

United made the playoffs 2 years in a row under Graham in 5A. Yall ran him out. The BMT schools can't compete in 6A anymore. Those schools they have to play are growing and growing in attendance & talent pool. The culture at WB is particularly poor. It takes more than just coaching at a school to be successful. It takes an admin that is aligned with athletics. It takes an admin that is willing to actually discipline kids. That's on more of BISD as a whole though. So, yes, when you apply the fact that things at BMT schools are as bad as they are to the addition of having to play those growing power houses..... it makes sense. You asked for it to make sense. Those communities are on completely different trajectories than BMT that they have to play. The football programs haven't recovered from COVID either. The schools haven't recovered from it. They went virtual and have had to play catch up in integrity and numbers for football ever sense. United had like 13 freshman football players during the COVID year. Come on man. Those kids are Seniors right now. WB had more during COVID, but the culture of the school took a huge nose-dive from going virtual and then back. I know other schools dealt with some of the same things, but again, BMT was already struggling more than those places. It's riddled with poverty and crime on a pretty alarming scale. It's all a part of the village, man.

the current state of Beaumonts high school football  needs a complete reset from top down(both). it's sad but true.
Not a single soul on Earth can/will convince me that there is not the skill and talent there to do better than what the records/games reflect.

Decisions can cost PAM in the long run. The offense is limited sometimes, Qb ain't a runner. Defense has to play the run better to go far in the playoffs. Its a still young team.

Bingo…I tell people all the time (even my close friends who think about applying for a Head Job in BISD) BISD isn’t set up properly for anyone to succeed in football. No matter who the coach is the district isn’t set up for sustained football success. Until this changes nothing will ever change.

What hurts Beaumont is a number of things.  A lot of kids that should be seniors at WB are playing at other places right now like CE King, HF, etc.. United has talent but some of those guys don't leave the court.  Admin makes it hard on coaches with the class schedules some coaches have, not paying hardly any days and requiring new staffs to keep holdovers.  The admin as a whole needs a makeover to regain control over the district, keep kids/talent from going to other districts and giving the coaches the proper resources to be successful.  Hard to judge a coach when the deck is stacked.  It's not about turf fields and indoors, it's about allowing the coaches to have the right time with players and the schools not being a mad house causing parents to move their kids.

It has nothing to do with the color of a man/woman/person's skin. It has to do w the leadership from the top. These coaches and kids are starting off behind the 8 ball. All Coaches and kids not in athletic periods. It is hard for any coach to build a program if they don't have all of their kids in their athletic period (both in and out of season). Also, the facilities are garbage. BU's weight room has been there since that fieldhouse was built for Ozen. I'm sure WB's weight room isn't much better. There is a lack of quality practice facilities for both schools. They are trying to compete against schools that have indoors, turf practice fields, etc. All of this is important because when weather hits in the middle of the day, there is always somewhere to go, instead of the small gym. BISD needs an AD that will fight for his coaches and get both programs back on the same playing level as other programs. The UIL puts these teams in a district, so that is out of anyone's control, but give everyone a fighting chance and at least a shot to compete. Unfortunately, it's that way in every sport, with the exception of basketball. Do Better!!!!

As he should’ve…no coach who knows wtf they’re doing would take a job where they can’t bring in their own staff! This is why you continue to get low level hires of guys from the area or guys out of HISD.

I know I might be in the minority on this one but I actually think Graham wasn’t a bad hire…he just couldn’t overcome the hand he was dealt.

I have a few coaching buddies who’ve reached out to me regarding the WB job that is rumored to come open this spring & I caution all of them that I would go in the interview with a list of demands (of the things I stated earlier in this thread) if they can’t meet every single demand don’t even waste your time cause you’re simply setting yourself up for failure. Furthermore me personally I wouldn’t even consider coaching in Beaumont until it made one high school but that’s just me.

IZZY is right and its not about coaching or athletes at this point in BISD. Both schools have more than enough athletes to at least compete, and when I say compete I saying w/ 5A programs SMDH... The infrastructure for FOOTBALL is HORRIBLE. You can't compete at the 6A level when you don't have all of your COACHES/ATHLETES in the athletic period. Your athletes are put into BEHIND the 8ball when the playing field is not level. 6A OC/DC coordinators should not teach full loads of classes and only coach after school. Athletes cannot compete when the only time they are coached is after school. UIL and the state of TEXAS has allowed sport specific athletic classes (PE/ Athletic Periods) and when some schools take advantage and others don't it shows on the field. Also financially (the stipends in BISD) are not comparable to any of other 6A programs in the state so bringing in quality coaches/ or keeping coaches in a small town compared to LARGER DISTRICTS is hurting no only FB but all sports.. Im sorry but Basketball has a total of less than 50 players in a program. A quality FB program will have 100-120 so make it make since where BISD is putting their attention when it comes Athletics....

This simply isn’t true Cougar…DV didn’t have anywhere close to the talent it has now until Samples arrived! His ability to recruit is widely known throughout the coaching circles and I don't knock him for it. But we have to be honest, look at skyline before & after he left. And look at them now lol you think all of that talent magically disappeared from Skyline all of a sudden? Don’t be naive bro

to be honest, PNG has or should have raised the bar for ALL golden triangle teams, even PAM. i say PAM even more so because even though PAM beat the breaks off them, PNG won the "race", "fight" or whatever analogy you want to use and was there at the big dance. while the rivalry isn't strong like MCM, it's beginning to rise. i know some PAM fans will point to PNG had an easier road. well from what i'm hearing and seeing, next realignment PAM might be D2 and i don't wanna hear no excuses. PNG proved my point many others stated in the past i was being sooooo negative. PNG brought in someone FROM OUTSIDE OF THE AREA with a winning formula, the kids bought into it and boom success. Keep going with the good ol boy system(TJ grads) and we gonna stay stagnant and fester. IF PNG GOES AT LEAST 5RDS DEEP, LOOK FOR A CRAP LOAD OF TRANSFERS FROM PAM TO BE AT THE REZ. I SAID IT HERE FIRST!!!
