+ Me. I wasn't going to say anything, but since you did I'll second the opinion. Btw I got in trouble with a judge in Beaumont once when I was on jury duty, for my comments about preponderance of evidence. Edit: not trouble as in legal trouble, just a comment from him about my stated definition of preponderance.

A rule WAS broken.

Yes but it's too late. Perpetuating the lie now is difficult. Uh oh.

Wow! Congrats, Hardin Hornets!

(Just for the sake of further discussion.) I already made the PNG-Crosby comparison several pages ago. That was a definite rules violation. Reportedly, per the experts on this thread, there was no rules violation per se in this LCM-BC instance. So, this is only an ethics question. Also if LCM "returned" the watch, in whatever manner they said they returned it, then was it actual stealing? Or did they just borrow it. I guess you could say they did steal it for ~15 minutes or so. I agree with you, btw, but it was interesting yesterday at the weekly golf game I participate in, this was discussed among the group. All six guys in our group immediately sided with LCM. No poker game marked cards comparisons; it was mostly sign-stealing comparisons. "BC should have kept up with their equipment, etc, and acted accordingly." Edit, to rephrase the above: Rather than say they sided with LCM, I should say that they had no sympathy at all for BC.

What Week 11 game(s) will you be attending?

Fixed it for you. Friday night I can't attend the PNG-Dayton game, so I'll be looking at PNG and Nederland games on line, while watching the other scores. -
Interesting thread. Video and CAMs everywhere. You can't even take a dump in the woods without being on someone's trail cam.

In '23 #33 for PNG pretty much played all season with a sprained or otherwise very sore ankle.
-
Wow, it'll be interesting to see #33. This could end up being an interesting game, although everyone is saying it won't be.

PNG forfeited their win over Crosby in 2018 for a coach having an I-Pad in the press box taking pics. But I guess that was a specific actual rules violation. If this is an ethics issue only, not a rules violation per se, then IMO LCM school board or whoever should be on the coaching staff's case pretty hard, and not wait on UIL or anybody. As far as should haves, the BC kid should have immediately reported the missing watch/band; I can't fathom him not knowing it wasn't on his arm. The BC coach should have then gone to hand signals or else code, such as "left means right", etc. And of course the LCM coach should have immediately returned the BC equipment, which costs $500 or whatever. All my opinion, of course.

Dayton seems to always play well at PNG. Btw were the last two games at Dayton? Anyway I'm hoping the Indians don't have a let down; they need to finish up a perfect regular season. I'm sure CJ will inspire them to.

Yep. Every year is a new year everywhere. One kid moves to Lumberton to live with Dad. Another moves to Bridge City to live with Mom. A few others graduate. A whole bunch move up from JV and grow 4" taller and gain 25 lbs during the off season.

Still? PNG 35 - 21

Port Neches-Groves (43) @ Montgomery (38) - FINAL
1970 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
I don't know exactly what point spread = a so-called blowout, but I didn't expect as close a game as it turned out to be, although Montgomery always plays PNG a good game. This one was a real barn burner. BTW the score in the thread title ain't right. -

Montgomery QB reminds me of Shea Adams, from the '22-'23 Indians. -
IMO the final scores were similar, by my definition of similar, as reflected by the comparisons we're making. But regardless, it's fun to run the numbers and guess the scores, which is why we are all participating on this forum in the first place. It's up to the boys to play the game. Like someone said up above, it should be a good game. Hoping for good weather, no injuries, and cheering for PNG.

Just tagging on to your premise: Montgomery and Lake Creek were tied 15-15, or thereabouts, at the half. Ended up 42-31. PNG led Lake Creek at the half 42-0, with the final score 45-21, with pretty much the entire bench playing the second half. I think LC kicked 2 or 3 on-side-kicks in the 2nd half. The second half was essentially a scrimmage. Vs Huntsville, the final scores were fairly similar, although Montgomery played well for 2 halves, and PNG came alive in the 2nd half, 29-0, after trailing 10-29. The only other common opponents are Splendora and West Fork, and one can slice and dice those scores any way you want. We'd really have something to hang our hat on I think if Montgomery would have played LaPorte in a pre-district game. Or even Klein Oak.
