I haven't seen them yet, but my neighbor has been to all of the games (his daughter is a cheerleader), and he says HF has definitely been a 2nd half team so far this season.

Yeah I should have said "in regulation time or something to that effect". BTW, the following May, or maybe June, at the Southeast TX coaches all-star game at Lamar, one of the WOS players that was there spoke with my grandson that was there from PNG, and told him that they were really proud of that game. I was there of course, and I recall thinking how few in number the WOS teams always seem to be. Anyway, I hope this seasons' WOS team gets better from here. -
Last night when I scrolled down thru the games on TL there were two icons for the Ned-Silsbee game. The one that looked typical would not work. The other was blank except for the words "off line". I clicked on it and got the game. Another thing, the game started at 7:30, not 7:00, which I didn't know until about 7:15.

Yeah, they played the '23 championship team to a tie. I think it was Bailey's first game after Adams' injury, but still, I agree, regarding this season and last. -

The Bulldogs will be ok; they're a good team. I was surprised that they didn't keep it on the ground more, but maybe they just wanted to work on the passing game more before district games begin. They used 2 different QBs, one seemed to be more for the passing plays. The game was really hyped, and the Bulldogs perhaps reacted more to that, with the various first half penalties, etc, or maybe it had nothing to do with it, IDK. PNG to me seemed to enjoy the hype more, and took advantage of the LP mistakes. This is just my own opinion but last years' PNG team had the '23 state championship and #1 ranking on their backs, and it wasn't until the Nederland loss, that the team turned a corner. They still had their weaknesses but they seemed to play more relaxed. This years' team so far is their own team with their own ambitions, 2 years removed from the championship, and they seem to be enjoying each game more and more. -

A bit of a somewhat sloppy game, lots of penalties, dropped passes, but sometimes it works that way. Good win for the Indians. -

Bulldogs gonna get an ear-full from coach at halftime I'm thinking. Maybe a couple of receivers for the Indians may get a few words as well from their coach. Good tough game so far, though. -
Indeed, regardless of the outcome, it's a good pre-district game for PNG for sure. Hoping for no injuries, both teams.

What Week 3 game(s) will you be attending?

Yes I would expect so, I think they will do all games up until the playoffs. UIL has said that they can't do playoff games I believe. -

PNG @ LaPorte via NDN Press, and Nederland @ Silsbee via TL. -
Just my opinion, but it seems that LP is very close to picking up right where they left off at the end of last season. An observation based solely on the scores so far and the few clips I've seen. Tackling either of the RBs typically includes dealing with some well executed stiff-arms, just like last season. I agree with your earlier comments about the Klein RB. I don't know what was going on but he wasn't in the game for much of the 3rd qtr. Maybe he wasn't full speed for some reason, but in any case the Indian D had his number.

Yeah, that too.

WOS. They'll get it together. Eliminate the penalties mistakes and bad officiating and they should have beaten Nederland. If the OL works on their blocking this week they'll be off to the races. And with all due respect to the kicker, special teams should work on the fake field goal, fake extra points, and onside kick, I think they'll come in handy.
-
I've seen the exit I think, on I-10. Don't know if they have good football there, but I've seen the Lake Charles high school teams on the practice field in full pads on Sundays and holidays. LCM may have their hands full.

Nederland's 3rd straight 4A matchup; and second straight 4ADII. Probably another close one, but I'm thinking Silsbee, and perhaps not as close a game as last season's game in Nederland.
-
It's a tossup. I attended the game in PN last season and it turned into a score fest. I forgot how many KO returns for TDs there were. But the defense and special teams for both seem to be improved this year, and perhaps offense as well. I'll go with PNG, but with hopes that the OL gets it together a little better by game time.

WOS team reminded me of last season's team, and the game reminded me of last season's game at WOS. The refs reminded me of the refs for last season's game also, for some reason. Just my opinion, but it matches up pretty well with the previous posts up above, WOS is talented but lack some fundamentals, on the o-line and tackling. And I ain't casting stones at the WOS QB at all, he played a good hard game and brought the team down there for a last second chance to score, and just got caught up in the moment as the clock was ticking down, the crowd roar, etc. He knew immediately and tried to get another snap to spike the ball but it was too late. Like someone already said, it happens. Another good win for Ned; I was impressed with the RB and the defense. -
