Good pass. I haven't seen SV play this season, but to me their D seemed to be dragging a bit. -
Question: How does opting up affect income for the school, if at all? Presuming larger stadiums, larger attendance, etc. The schools get a percentage of the gate, same as the Refs?

Prayers for his family and friends. I still remember having him as a coach at Lamar in 1971. Weird sense of humor, sometimes moody, all-around good guy.

Congrats! Great game last Sat..

It's very common, really, all over the area. A niece of mine lived in the kountz isd but closer to silsbee, and attended church in silsbee, and somehow ended up attending school there.

Austin 1985 explained it, see his above post. I met my wife at PNG, and the principal lived next door, and a couple of houses down the street the houses were in Nederland school district. She was just a couple of houses from going to Nederland, and we may have never met. As far as apartments, there may be one or two new ones, but what I see are new RV parks springing up all over, although there may not be a lot of school children there. Eventually IMO PNG and Nederland both will drop down to 4A.

Nah, they (or we, I guess), complain anyway. However, before SOC it was FBM, until PNG beat them a couple seasons, so there you go. -

No excuses. I know you're not talking to me, but those PAM - PNG games were all pretty good games, even the '22 game, and in each one the best team won, IMO. As far as last night, the best team won, period. PNG missed Bailey for sure, but I don't believe the game would have gone the other way. The offense wasn't clicking, and there's been too many dropped passes all season, regardless of the scores. Still, it was a good season, and to be ranked 3rd in the state ain't too shabby. As far as the player kicking, I didn't see it but I heard about it. I guarantee when Coach J. sees it if he didn't already, there'll be a price to pay for that. -

Not a bit. That team is stacked. PNG really missed Bailey, but still, did any other 5a team keep it that close for 3 qtrs this season? -

Back in the 60s, '67 maybe, my folks recorded the radio play-by-play of the PNG - Ned game on a reel-to-reel tape recorder of some sort, and sent it to my older brother who was on a Navy destroyer in Viet Nam. He later said that it was a huge hit on board the ship. I guess it must have been a close game that year. -

Except that PNG has some key injuries, a Soph QB (although very talented, apparently), and SOC is stacked. I do believe that PNG will hold their own better than last season; and who knows, anything can happen. Anyway, tomorrow is game time, so we will all see. Today the special teams for both are probably getting some extra work, and the receivers are running routes. -

True, dat. I grew up in a pretty rough section of Groves. -
Edit: 28 - 24 PAM, just to make it a closer game. It's hard to beat the same team twice, when it's two good teams playing, or else the score is typically closer the second time around. PAM will have to get the first game out of their heads, and it'll be the opposite for BH.

28 - 17, PAM.
