  1. Yeah, I agree. It may be subjective but I think there was more effort against PNG last week, even though it was 0 -25 at the half. I expected a closer game tonight than what I'm seeing. Is it their homecoming?
  2. West Fork looks completely and totally flat, and then some, not to take anything away from Montgomery, but WF players look spent as though they are playing in a 5th or 6th qtr rather than the 1st or 2nd.
  3. The camera person for TL should stay on the press box view, IMO. The field view looking at folks' backsides don't work too good. Anyway, NCWF looks pretty flat on offense so far.
  4. Is this game on Texan Live? I don't see it. I was hoping to get there but not gonna make it.
  5. I can't remember the brand, but it was bourbon, according to a former co-worker of mine who knew him personally. Btw will Wade be here this year?
  6. I wasn't around here for that, but I remember the Vidor band trying to play it once, a little off key.
  7. My guess is no. That would make the win a bigger deal than it is/was. In last season's context, PNG was ranked #1 in state at the time, and Ned was in a seemingly come-back season, and excitement overcame them, although the display didn't exhibit very much if any class. You never know, of course, but my guess is still no, hopefully they have more class than that.
  8. A young lady checker at a business in PN several years ago had musical notes tattooed on her arm, and I said please don't tell me that those notes are the PNG fight song. She laughed and said they weren't. I can take the tune at the ball games, but otherwise not, like Cherokee car horns and the like. Although when I was in school there I did a pretty good job of Cherokee with my duck call.
  9. All on line for Fridays games, primarily MCM. Tomorrow if all goes well I may go watch Hardin at Anahuac.
  10. Stallworth ain't too bad, and may have an elevator, I don't recall. Dayton stands are impressive; the NDN Press kid called it the "stairway to heaven". Never been to or even seen Lufkin stadium. The last time I was in Lufkin was when we evacuated for Hurricane Ike, and it took 24 hrs to get there from Mont Belvieu. But the Whataburger breakfast was good. Oh, the humanity! Oh, and I'm saying PAM by at least 2 TDs.
  11. I understand the frustration, although I don't have a so-called dog in the fight this year, neither with trying to buy tickets, nor a grandchild or other relative involved in the game. But I wouldn't think that NISD can really do anything. They hired a 3rd party, and I wouldn't expect them to have hold the 3rd party's hand. Reportedly PNG previously used the same 3rd party, but apparently either learned their lesson, or else got a better deal with another outfit. Apparently information about any bad experience(s) weren't shared with NISD folks. NISD I'm sure wants to bring in as much $ as possible, that's reportedly the reason this game isn't played at Lamar. But surely there are codes that must be followed, for fire and emergency, and a maximum capacity for the stadium. It's not like the old standing room only days I guess. Otherwise, then take everyone's money and let them stand behind the end zones, just as you say.
  12. Btw I'm reading that there's a big ticket screwup that sold too many tickets. Unless it's illegal for some reason NISD should bring out folding chairs and accept all tickets. Maybe a couple extra food stands too. May as well make some money.
  13. Looks like this game will be on TL also, so I plan to check in, as well as on a few others, all depending on how MCM is going, (since I didn't get tickets for MCM this year). I'm still leaning toward LP, but we'll see.
  14. IDK. Either one, as long as it's available online. I get a kick watching NDN Press, though, the kids do a great job. BTW are drones illegal for use? Unauthorized drones, anyway.
  15. This will be a good game to watch. I'm leaning toward LaPorte, by a TD or two.
  16. No tickets this year; it'll have to be Texan Live or NDN Press. Unless I run across some on FB or somewhere.
  17. I'm just already ready to get the MCM game over with.
  18. Last night's game against West Fork was the trap game, if any.
  19. In District 8 5A-2, next week's game between West Fork and Montgomery should be interesting. IMO West Fork has been sort of the surprise in a good way, along with Huntsville in a disappointing way. If Mont wins next week then it'll come down to the next week's match up between them and PNG, presuming PNG takes care of business for MCM. The 3rd and 4th spots may come down to the final reg season games.
  20. If PNG wins, it's just meh; if they lose it's a slap in the face. Ned has nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Expect offensive trickery, defensive stunts, and never give up attitude. A fumble here, an interception there, a blocked punt, a bad (or good) penalty call or two, and you never know. Like 2 brothers, (or 2 sisters), 1 year apart in age, in a fight. You never know. Otherwise, if it was any other game, PNG wins easily.
  21. It's a good thing; the receivers are having a difficult time catching the ball.
  22. Hopefully this was a short game. BTW the score reminds me of the 1946 PNG vs Nederland game. My 95-y.o. father in law lives with us now and he tells us about it each year. PNG kicked off, my FIL hit the Ned. ball carrier, he fumbled, PNG covered and scored on the first play from scrimmage, and went on to win 72 - 0. Or maybe 71 - 0.
  23. Yeah, right. How many times have we seen this prediction for this game. And speaking of game, the Bulldogs have plenty of GAME, I'll give them that. Both the offense and defense.
