Trahan getting a few years of HC experience so he can take over Vidor job when DuBose leaves. Same as DuBose did before taking over for Mathews. These Bridge City alumni have a pretty good political circle going

what makes you think Trahan is from bridge city??  I've seen you mention it before, he is from Louisiana, was a very successful OC there for several years before making the move to Vidor.

As an observer of all but one game this year, I can say that Vidor football is not in good shape.  The team is undisciplined and lacking want and desire to win.  There is more of a ME mentality than a WE mentality.  Personal fouls, standing off to the side by yourself, talking to parents, girlfriends, friends in the bleachers while the game is going on, mental errors like fumbling or not trying to go for a big hit instead of wrapping up.... that is all look at ME stuff.  Are the coaches to blame... yes and no.  You can coach and motivate all you want but eventually the players have to buy in and right now the players have not bought in... well not all of them.

This post is not me thinking that Vidor should be undefeated or #1 in state.  This is an observation post.

Exactly, I pointed this out EARLY this year and was told the last team like this won the district championship.

That’s the point of the slot T… they seldom pass, and when they do it’s some kind of play action they looks like pure luck if it works.

well yeah.  if the slot t is running well, when you do throw a pass its usually wide open.  the point of my post was that this team lacks discipline and looks out of shape.  those things can be fixed and hopefully the staff can get it done, if not it will be a rough district

Oh, it’s that guy in  the stands yelling “WHY ARENT WE THROWING THE BALL?!!!! WE ALREADY RAN THAT PLAY TWICE!!!!”

Dubois will get them lined out, I’m confident.

Not even close, did you see the pass attempts against Santa Fe?  I hope your right and Dubois can get it done.  He better make some changes to what's going on and quick.  They will probably win the next few games but district will be tough sledding.

So, Vidor shouldn't make the drive...forfeit? It's an uphill battle with slim to none chances and yes, Silsbee is more than HEAVILY favored but there's always a chance.  Vidor will have to play a perfect game, hope for a couple mistakes by Silsbee and capitalize on those mistakes.  I know that Vidor's chance of winning is less than 1%...; much less lol... but I'll NEVER udder the words "no chance".

Play keep away, no turnovers, penalties to the bare minimum, and good special teams play.... never know!

the Pirates will make the trip and play hard, that's not in question.  you are right, always a chance.

WOS is a staple for football success. Best of luck, and there is no way they miss the playoffs this year. By the way , did anyone hear where the Vidor OC Trahan went or who got the BC offensive coordinator spot ?

Trahan is still on staff at Vidor.  BC hired Chris Towery as OC, he was previously the head coach at Sulphur High in la and has had many successful stops as an OC throughout the state of Texas in high school and jr college

Something promised several years ago may be a history lesson.  Dwayne may get the job but he may not be a shoe in.  I have to agree with @WOSdrummer99, Don’t others have a say in the hiring process?  There’s a post saying four interviews were upcoming on 3/6.  If true, all this “He’s a shoe in”, May not be true.  Hang loose folks, we’ll know something in a month or two.

Interviews were done today...if they can agree on a hire it will be announced at the school board meeting on the 6th

Ok I have a question who is the actual front runners for this job? Would like to see a Slot-T coach come… Possibly a Liberty Hill assistant very unlikely.

It will come down to Dubois or Trahan (current oc).  Either one will run some variation of the Slot-T, the question will be, does the district want to go with an experienced head coach that is retired and looking to double up his pay or an assistant coach looking to make a name for himself.
