Region 3 5A-D1 after realignment
purple reign replied to purple reign's topic in High School Football
That may well be. The TEA numbers for last fall for KP were 1884 and the cutoff last realignment was 1925 if irc . However the UIL adms are sometimes higher than TEA numbers. I don't think most people would mind having an 8 member district, rather than 9, -
Region 3 5A-D1 after realignment
purple reign replied to purple reign's topic in High School Football
I'll let someone more familiar with D2 do that. It would be interesting to see. -
There will be a major overhaul of districts in this region due to enrollment changes and I have focussed on the 2 districts which we now call 9-5A an 11-5A. District 10 will probably stay pretty much the same as well as disrict 12 which is out of our area. I have come up with a mock realignment for these two districts although at this point we don't know what the cutoffs will be and I just projected what the adm's would be. I made a few assumptions, one that Angleton and Barbers Hill will not survive in 5A and will become 6A. Another that The UIL will not do another major rescrambling like they did in 2024 bringing some Houston area teams back from Region 2. I tried to arrange the teams into a district 11 that has a west/south of Houston orientation and district 9 that has an east/north of Housto orientation. Some of these might surprise some people, especially Lamar Consolidated ISD totals which have changed fairly drastically because of the opening this fall of Tomas HS with 3 grades. Tomas will also be a 5A but even after you apply the 1.33 multiplier should still be a D2 school. [Hidden Content] District 9 La Porte Baytown Sterling Beaumont West Brook Beaumont United Port Arthur Memorial Lufkin Crosby Kingwood Park NC Porter District 11 FB Kempner FB Dulles LC Randle LC Foster LC George Ranch Friendswood Pasadena South Houston Galveston Ball You may have different ideas of how it should be done or may not agree with how I have classified a certain school. Let's hear your ideas.

Angleton (67) @ Kingwood Park (13) - FINAL
purple reign replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Here's my opinion. I think he didn't take the starters out as soon as some might think, because they were finally on what you might call the big stage (Texan LIve) and some Angleton players aren't getting the attention for reccruiting purposes that they should. This was the 1st time this season Angleton has been on Texan Live. By comparason, Pasadena, the worst team in the district was on there the week before and the week after Angleton played them. Kaleb Jammer is obviously an elite receiver, one of the best in the state (go watch the video of the game) and he's been just as good all season. The QB , Duron is also an elite QB. One thing about Jammer is he missed most of last season with an injury last year so wasn't seen much his junior year. One thing that hurts them is Angleton has so much talent that they spread it around so much that you may not see it in their numbers. Angleton's running game is also elite, I wouldn't trade them for any RB's that I have seen on other teams. However, most of the good ones are juniors so they will get more exposure next year. Also, I don't know that you can keep your starters sharp only playing them half a game. -

Angleton @ Kingwood Park Thursday
purple reign replied to purple reign's topic in High School Football
Tonight's the night for this matchup. Safe travels to everyone and I hope there's no injuries. Angleton can not afford to lose their starting QB, as the 2nd guy, Gardner, I hear is out for the season. He was also the holder for XP's and field goals. K-Parks normal method of operation is to pass a lot and I suspect we'll see a lot of that tonight. -
Angleton (6-0, 3-0) will be on the road Thurday night against Kingwood Park (3-3,1-2). They have played 4 times before with Angleton winning all 4. The 1st year they played twice with Angleton beating them in Humble in non district and then again at home in bi-district. They played pretty well in the 1st quarter at Crosby, but couldn't keep it up, losing 52-7. Once again, their defense seemed to give way like in some other games they have played. They have a tall QB named Pavlotos and a small RB Wolocko. The game will be streamed on Texan Live.

Porter's stretegy is to use ball control and QB Sngletary, who is dual threat and has a big, good RB Binford and they are pretty efficient at keeping a drive going but probably eventually they will give way when turnovers, speed, or special teams will give them problems. Shouldn't be a problem for La Porte.

Friendswood (6) @ Angleton (41) - FINAL

!!:6/41/F -
You're right. The biggest threat to Friendswood is Angleton's passing, not just to Jammer, but to Wesley Jackson, and the others too. Their run defense has been pretty good, except against La Porte. I can't imagine that if Steve Van Meter were still at Friendswood that Angleton would have the 6-game win streak. Not that there's anything wrong with Johnson, but Van Meter was special.

I just watched the 1st half of Friendswood vs Crosby and it appears that if Friendswood had played the 1st quarter like they did the other 3, they would have won the game. They made every mistake you could think of in that 1st quarter to go behind 19-0. They had several bad snaps, 2 turnovers and just did not seem ready to play. But the 1st mistake they made was scheduling a good team for homecoming. There's likely to be too many distractions. Angleton overdoes homecoming in my opinion. Thursday they even have a parade and a bonfire that night. I'm glad they play Kempner homecoming week here.

Hasker has gotten the attention of the Aggies already. He's #30 on their list of the 2028 Top Recruits in Texas, the 3rd cornerback on their list. Top Football Recruits in Texas - 2028 | TexAgs Apparently, they don't know he has transferred to Angleton. His dad is an Oklahoma alumnus. Sean Simon from La Porte is also on the list.

They could have injuries since they seemed good in the 1st few games. But like I said, motivation makes you better.

Friendswood (2-3,0-2) will be visiting Angleton (5-0,2-0) Friday at 7PM. Friendswood is the closest district member to Angleton by far, being about 28 miles away. They should have plenty to motivate them with their backs against the wall after losing their first 2 district games to a couple of the better teams in the district. Also, Angleton has a 6-game winning streak going against them dating back to 2018, so revenge is also motivating them. Angleton is fairly healthy other than the 2nd string QB has been injured and hasn't appeared in the last couple of games. The 3rd guy has been getting reps in his place and the HC called up his son, big for a freshman at 6', 180 so that there would be 3 players available at QB. I did notice that they took out the starter, Duron in the 1st half against Pasadena, no need to risk getting him hurt. Duron is having a phenomenal year, both passing and rushing. He has completed over 78% of his passes for 936 yds and has run 17 times for 180 yds, a 10.6 average. Angleton has used 12 ball carriers, 5 of which are running backs with 1248 yds on the ground on 137 carries, an average of 9.1 yds/carry. The 2 most used backs, Neyland and Moore are a thunder and lightning combo, with Neyland being over 200 lbs. and Moore having 4.4 speed. This could be the first game this year that the starters have to finish the game.

I'm wondering whether they will show up. Their JV didn't in Angleton and the Cats JV played somebody wearing red. Surely they won't cancel a home varsity game. That's where they make their money.

Texan Live broadcast looks awful. No color most of the time and looks fuzzy. -

Angleton will go up to Pasadena this week for an exciting game against the Eagles. jk I didn't think there would be a streaming option, but they added one kind of late:

It wouldnt surprise me any if that race ended in a three-way tie for 1st place.
