I mean locally, not just on social media. A "script" needs to be followed. One of the last games I watched is when a New Orleans WR got TRUCKED by a Ram CB well before a red zone pass arrived, and you know the rest of that story. They are not going to be able to hide the game fixing much longer. The NBA ref finally spoke up years ago, it will happen again.

Nationally there are about 5 homicides per 100,000 people. Per 100,000 is the way that crime is normally reported. Using murder as an example, if the national average is 5 per hundred thousand, a City the size of Port Arthur should have 2-3 murders per year. Beaumont should average about 6 yet they average about 14.
 In the last few years, Memphis, Tennessee has been average almost 30 per 100k.  That is 600% more than the national average. Extreme? 
People for some political arguments like to say, crime can happen anywhere. Obviously that is true. The likelihood of crime however, can be astronomically different according to where you are. Locally is a glaring example of that.
Tidbits like robberies are 700 per 100k in Memphis, 300/100k in Beaumont and 20/100k in Port Neches. Yes, crime happens everywhere.  Memphis seems to among the worst. 

Didn’t that attitude with whites prompt segregation ?

BTW check out the Memphis crime stats, if you dare. It will clearly verify what I am saying. It's a murder capitol. #2 after lovely Detroit.

I would change the wording in the last sentence just a bit.
I’ll take a good coach who can mold a young athletes life, over a great coach that gets wins but sets a bad example by his behavior. 
 

You can measure a coaches successes in many ways, by wins, championships, or in lives changed. Wins are good, Championships are great, but there is no substitute to changing a young athletes life. I think its a great thing for HF to be in a strong district. Iron sharpens iron, and makes HF stronger for the playoffs.
What you don't want is to be in a weak district like 3A is (for the moment), but I think Anahuac is growing up quickly, and OF looking pretty good too. In 4A if HF can play WOS, Silsbee and Jasper tough, that bodes well.
As for 5A-I, we have enough challenges as it is. In 5A-II PNG leads the way, but sorry to say I think 6A is hopeless for Beaumont.

Here are the current enrollment #s for 8th grade thru 12th grade for 22-23 school year.
8th (335)  9th (336)  10th (315)  11th (263)  12th (316).  We all know these #s fluctuate.  Take the senior class, for example.  They have 316 this year but they had 358 their 9th grade year.  My point is that if we replace the 12th grade enrollment with the 8th grade enrollment, snapshot next year would be 1249.  I would expect the new UIL cutoff # to be around 1330 and that is being conservative.  Even if the cutoff # stayed at 1299, Lumberton still remains in 4A.  Facts don't care about anyone's feelings.
