Keep telling yourself that. Find out for sure though. ASK HIM. -

It does not take a stretch to be terrified and go into "protection mode" when armed to the teeth people are screaming and beating on his door, UNPROVOLKED. Let me repeat that for you...UNPROVOLKED. Lets find out for sure what happened. Get his side of the story. ASK HIM. -

No they weren't. The only thing that entered HIS home were the police bullets that took his life. -
Wow those can be painful!! Watch where you step!

And what if he was a Martian arriving in a spaceship? Its getting ridiculous now. Keep in mind you need to direct this question elsewhere. I did not voice the "straw man" argument out of desperation. Someone else did. Talk to him. -

Its hugely different. The woman was sitting in a car, unarmed, backing out of the driveway, leaving. Zero threat to the resident. Nothing remotely like multiple people knocking (beating?) on an innocent mans home armed to the teeth. To try to equate the dead innocent homeowner with a homicidal maniac shooting a unarmed woman in a car is totally unbelievable. -

Ah, the straw man argument. UPS would not be packing heat, and then blow me away standing in my own home. You want to talk law? Earlier you said Whose property it is on has no bearing" Really? Better look up "Castle Doctrine" and "Stand Your Ground" laws. Whose property it is absolutely, positively does matter. I would say you need to consult a good lawyer and be enlightened. -
I would like to believe that but I don't. I think the vast majority of respectable, productive people have already left that blue hellhole and moved somewhere else. I sure would have. Same for NYC, etc.

15 arrests... out of literally hundreds. Then, directly right back out on the street. No bail necessary, woke Soros judge will make sure no charges will stick.

WTH? If I am beating on some other guys door, on HIS property, then I shoot and kill him??? The cops and the Law are going to side with him 99.9999% of the time. You know thats true. You still have not answered how the PD should respond to the widow and the greiving children who saw their Dad blown away standing in his own home. -

The homeowner was terrified, and protecting his family. He did NOT shoot the cops. THEY made the mistake, THEY were the agressors, THEY killed him, on his property. It all sounds like laywer talk, shift blame to the dead guy. Put him on trial, after all, he can't speak for himself anymore, can he? -

Thats not what I implied. Retreating, or a better word would be just to completely back off, until verification takes place. They did not. I don't care who is wearing the badge, that don't make you God. This was DOTSONS property, not the cops. The cops moved on him, on HIS property, not the other way around. Unless Dotson actually fired first, there is no excuse. There has to be restraint. Here is another recent "event" by the same FPD: [Hidden Content] They blew away a 25 year old in his car, and the cheif later admitted he "could have been reaching to unbuckle his seat belt" as the cops were screaming and forcing him to. All over a stupid license plate. [Hidden Content] Finally, are you really suggesting no apology for the reamining Dotsons? Seriously? What would you tell them? Just "tough luck" or something? -

They absolutely should NOT be prosecuted for just knocking on the wrong door. They should be prosecuted for taking an innocent mans life, and trying to kill his wife before taking enough due diligence to make 100% sure they are confronting the right person at the right address before shooting to kill. Clearly there was doubt already in the air. Retreating until everything is 100% confirmed would have been the prudent course of action, and prevented this very preventable tragedy. Do you think simply issuing a public apology while a grieving widow and horrified kids try to go on without a Dad is all that should be done?
