Everyone does things a little differently.  I doubt Splendora runs the same spread offense as Carthage does.  A lot depends on personnel available.  What works great for Bellville may end up losing yards if Vidor runs the exact same play.  So unless there’s a glaring difference - they pass a lot - Vidor doesn’t, comparisons are not that significant, imo.  Even passing - Bellville has probably been using it since Jr Hi.  Vidor needs to do that, again imo.

But back to the game, Lindale’s line is huge, and they have good speed.  So we’re undersized & slow.  What, as a Coach, do you do to counter those two big factors?  Forget Spread, Slot T, I Formation and Wishbone.  I’ve no idea.  Perhaps some Coaches will explain.  My Coaching career is limited to Jr League Football (10-12 year olds), so I’ll leave it to the pros.

I was thinking of that today, Lumberton will face Palestine week after next and I was thinking, didn't the fourth place team from that district win last year? Kind of worries me beccause their record says we should own them but our district record says we just might not.

    Take care of Livingston first.

There are no easy games with teams coming out of District 9. Just ask Hunger games. Last year #4 Chapel Hill was an odd duck. They replace their quarterback mid season with a freshman who almost ended up making it to Jerry World.

  3. Livingston is stacked with athletes but are an undisciplined ball club. We all saw what happened last week when that happens. If Lumberton can capitalize on mistakes it'll be a blowout. If they play up to their potential it'll still be Lumberton by 14. Don't forget they are playing for a third seed if Little Cypress doesn’t takes care of business on Friday. Ain't nobody going to want to take on the winner of the other district.

  4. Living rent free.....

Vidor, LCM, and Lumberton are playing good football. LCM had a bad game against Vidor (I was there) and it looks like Vidor was shutdown by Lumberton. Tonight will end or continue the debate of "who" is the best in 2022.

Tri-Champs does have a ring to it...

  5. In my opinion this is the game that the district deserves.

Who wants to be huddled under a set of bleachers in between rain, low turnout, no band, no cheerleaders, weather delays, an environment prone to injuries, and missing game one of the World Series with your Houston Astros.
