They won which is a plus, however the pitching staff tried their best to blow another game They will come in 7th or 8th after HCU series and if HCU wins 2 of 3 from SEL, look for Lamar to be sitting at home after the HCU series If the pitching staff is not the worst in the Southland conference, it is real close. They simply have very few decent relievers on the staff IMO, I don’t think they like playing for Davis

I agree that the player can’t get the memories back, however the team and coaching staff should play the best players to give them a chance to win I agree that I like you am not a fan of that situation, but unfortunately it happens and as a coaching staff, you need to play the best players

This happens in coaching quite often. You simply move on if that happens. If you don’t want to move, I guess you coach 7th grade Athletics is all about having fun, but working to be the best you can be and competing for a position If someone moves in and is better, they win the position The one that has been there needs to support the one that wins the job. Way too many parents want the coaches to play my child and the next best 10. Unfortunately that is not how you win. I know that is tough, but that is reality

Every time you think Lamar baseball is going to do something they wind up choking the pooch Just can’t do much under Davis’s coaching They have got to find pitchers that can get it done or another pitching coach or both Had enough hits and runs to win, but pitching staff let them down again Still not sure if they will make the top 7 in conference

Schools listed where he was a head coach are absolutely bad year after year in football His record at those schools are not good, however not much worse than Barrow’s record at Nederland

I do not know if any girls teams made the playoffs, however none of the major boys programs made it. When Neumann was there the athletes were hungry for success, now I am not so sure I do know from watching football the past 2 seasons, there is not a lot of talent and the coaching at every position is lacking. This past season was probably the most disappointing season in football that I have seen in Nederland in 20 to 30 years. IMO, as I watched them, they looked like an HISD program. They were soundly beaten in just about every game and honestly appeared to have no desire to win. The prime example for me to say this is the way they got beat by the annual doormat SF

Yes those sophomores will be juniors and there was about a handful that were pretty good. I don’t think 5 or 6 are going to get the job done. Where are all the others coming from? Sophomores, seniors? I think this coaching staff has been there long enough to show that their coaching skills are a tad on the weak side I hope they prove me wrong, I am simply looking at how they performed last year and I bet Dave Campbell’s magazine has them picked close to the bottom. Got the 1st conference sweep with an outstanding 19hit attack and 12 runs Starting pitcher did a fabulous job, however 3 of the 4 relievers were bad. Davis keeps putting 2 of them in and they are bad just about every time they pitch but he keeps putting them in They need to win 5 of their last conference games to move up for the tournament 6 non conference games left. Should beat PV and hopefully 2 of 3 vs SFA. I do not know how they will do vs Baylor and UT Rio Grande Valley

Well Lamar comes through against Houston They beat 3 good teams in A&M, TCU, and U of H, but haven’t won but 1 series in the Southland conference How can you play good against those 3 but lousy vs 1 of the weakest conferences in NCAA D1 Look for 1-2 vs SEL and McNeese. The Cards just can’t get it done. Relief pitching is still poor and get get timely hitting going. I don’t know for the life of me why they seem to always play bad vs A&M CC. 3 conference series left and since they never seem to play well vs SEL, I look for 1-2 vs them, 1-2 vs Mc Neese, and either 2-1 or 1-2 vs HCU. They end up in conference either 10-14 or 9-15 and probably in 9th out of 9

The Junior class is going to be decent, I don’t know if many sophomores will make varsity, the senior class will be weak like last season’s class Under this coaching staff, I look for the season results to be anywhere from2-8 to 5-5 and sitting at home again with district record either 3-4 or 2-5 Posters that are honest and correctly evaluate the game know that last year, the team played like an HISD school

Bats came alive tonight and pitching did enough for the W The Cards have 2 nice wins vs A&M and TCU, however they are average in one of the weakest conferences in NCAA D1.
