All of these disgruntled seniors leaving the program may have played a big part into why the Dogs were so bad last year

I will be one of the 1st to say yea and congratulate the Bulldogs if they do well You can call it complaining, whining whatever you want to, however I call it a pretty accurate assessment I said when 4 teams make it to the playoffs, the Dogs should make it every year I said the talent pool must be down and I think the 1st scrimmage shows that I said the head coaches record is not that impressive and I certainly don’t think it is I agreed that they have made the playoffs which is super, however if you look at their final playoff game each of those years , it was not a pretty site

Yes very long. May not win a game Time to clean house and bring in a quality coaching staff

Went 3-0 in non district last year and then played about as bad in district as you can example BH game and if you can’t scrimmage HF better than that then you have some major issues coaching staff is weaker than well water

Well I know the talent pool must be down, however Nederland should make the playoffs every year with 4 teams going to the playoffs. PNG doesn’t seem to have a problem with that For the 90+ percent of folks on the Barrow bandwagon , if you look at his record as head coach it is not very impressive Yes they have made the playoffs and again should every year. You will also notice that when they were defeated in the playoffs it was a total tail kicking. So, as you can imagine I don’t think the coaching is very good Look for the Dogs and Santa Fe to battle it out to see who will be 0-10 this season after watching the scrimmage vs HF

Last season was a tough one. The season showed a lack of talent along with poor coaching. The 4 games that really showed me this were Silsbee, Texas City, Barber’s Hill, and KP Hopefully this season the talent level will be better along with the coaching. If not, they may only win 3 games I have said it before and I will say it again, with 4 teams making the playoffs each year, Nederland should make the playoffs every year!

Must play much better than last year or Barrow May have to pack his bags. I don’t know if the talent level has really fallen off the bandwagon or not, but the Dogs have not been very good the past few years. A few playoff appearances, but have been demolished in the 1st, 2nd, and a couple of 3rd round appearances. I do know the OL and QB positions have been bad. Hopefully much better this season

As I expected, the season comes to an end. It became evident during the season that they only had two starters and 2-3 relievers. It showed as they lost the majority of their conference series final games. Also, way too many errors to overcome, but a successful season for the Cards. Now they need to recruit some pitchers and find a pitching coach capable of teaching

Super job on the mound by Wheaton. Jack Dallas has had a magnificent year, unfortunately off last night, however errors are hard to overcome The Cards had their best season under David s this year, just don’t see them beating ACU again. 37-21 a very good season Grand Canyon May win a game in regionals

Yes and must continue the good play. Grand Canyon is predicted to make the regionals Lamar has to win the WAC tournament or season is over. Need to win the next 2 and get a good seed

How about that a sweep. They actually had pitchers come through and the bats were hot this weekend. Now see if they can sweep targeting State at home to secure a nice position in the WAC tournament If they can continue to be hot, they may be able to meet Grand Canyon in the championship game. That would certainly be nice. Way to go Cards

19-81 the past 2 seasons. This is simply inexcusable. Time to get rid of Hooks and find someone that can coach and recruit. It is so difficult to see which Lamar program is worse. Does anyone have an opinion between football, volleyball, mens basketball, and softball. They are all bad!

Good job Lamar. A crucial series vs ACU. Unfortunately they have never played well against them, so I am hoping they can at least win 1. They were 1-2 at home in 1st round. Sure would like to see them fair better If not they will go from 2nd to 4th in their division

19 pitchers on the roster. I would say 16 are either not very good or as you said they are not being utilized enough and I would certainly say that the pitching coach or coaches are not doing a very good job. What about the poor defense with all of these errors, who is coaching them? I would say whoever it is, is not doing a very good job, especially after 40plus games

I get you on this. The 1st 2 starters and Dallas are not the problem. No depth plus errors, you are certainly correct on this. So where is the coaching to fix these errors? With basically 3 pitchers they will not last long in the tournament Again my point can’t be successful under Davis reign

I understand your point, however Lamar has never played well vs UTRGV and ACU, not just this year. Also note that they are 2-7 this season in conference series finals with the 2 wins vs cellar dweller SFA. That tells me that pitching depth is a major issue

Well on the positive side this is Lamar’s best record with Davis. Either finish 32-23 or 33-22. Conference either 16-14 or 17-13. Now for the negative with Davis at the helm. They simply do not play well vs UTRGV and ACU. They will most likely be in 4th in their division after the ACU series. They are 2-7 in conference series final games this season. They have never won a conference championship under Davis(nor will they), and they are simply bad in conference tournament games, usually 2 and done. To consider a season to be a success in D1, you have to win your conference or the tournament and make it to a regional This is not going to happen as long as Davis is there

Yes indeed, hopefully Lamar will put it all together and get the much needed win. 2-6 in this season’s final conference game in the series and now 2-3 vs UTRGV this season. Hopefully 3-3 after tomorrow
