Does anyone have a clue as to why Lamar does not play well against UT Rio Grand 1-3 this season and ACU. For some reason their record vs these 2 is bad

It will be 80 after tomorrow and if all WAC teams go to tournament it will be 19-82

If all teams make the tournament Lamar will be 2 and done. I see them splitting with TSU and losing 3 to SHS

I don’t think I have ever seen a Lamar softball team this poor the past 2 seasons. Could possibly be the worst D1 program in the nation theses past 2 seasons. Looks like an 11-37 season which would make them 19-80 the past 2 years. They may get lucky and finish 20-79. There is obviously not much talent alongside poor coaching and a total lack of recruiting

A super surprise to me, but extremely glad to see the series sweep. I wish they would play ACU and UT Rio Grande the way they play Sam Houston. Have a chance today to take the lead in their division

Glad to see them make the playoffs even though they will be one and done. Just not a very good season for sports programs this year for the Dogs. Hopefully next season will be better

Only showing 8 losses, other pitchers must be horrible looks like top 3 listed are pretty good after that it goes down hill

Hopefully they will play well in the 2 remaking conference series at home. I see 1-5 or 2-4 on the 2 road series against SHS and ACU. Need to go at least 4-2 in the final 2 home series

Well I see this very good Lamar baseball team has scored a whopping 1 run the past 2 games. Same Ole Cardinal baseball team under Will Davis’s leadership. They better think about staying in the WAC because they will have to face HBU in the SLC and can’t beat them. Do not be surprised if they fold the tent during these final regular season games

I certainly hope that Brooks gets the Cards back, however don’t look for it to be a hurry

Probably finish 6-6 in 5th place. Crosby gets 2nd win Friday since the Dogs only have 1 pitcher and they always struggle with BH. Look for PNG to win 1 from GP

Tough to win when you leave 11 stranded. Lamar just doesn’t have much pitching depth They will have to win conference tournament to get to a regional The committee will only take 1 team from the WAC

You have got that right, super hitter for Texas, but struggles recruiting and coaching. The new pitching coach they hired must not be a very good pitching coach, because they do not have 1 pitcher that competes. It is difficult to distinguish which Lamar sport is worse between football, mens basketball, and softball.

Just do my seem to have enough pitching to sweep any series, plus could not manufacture many runs, even though they had several hits

I would certainly think the conference matters. Quality recruits are going to go to schools that have a winning tradition. Lamar will have a change to have more success in the SLC, however if things don’t change they will not win there either. The SLC and WAC are two extremely weak conferences. You have to win the conference or conference tournament to get an invitation to a regional. As of now the Cardinals will not win any major sport in the WAC or SLC. Hopefully that will change in the future
