LU has 12th best ERA in the country with the 219th lowest runs scored total and 233rd in runs per game. 
I differ with you on the pitching being the issue.  I will give you that there have been blown saves. However  let's look at 7 of the conference losses.  
5 games the offense has produced 2, 2, 1, 3, and 3 runs in those games the runs against was 5, 4, 5, 4, 4. The other 2 games in the 7 discussing were extra inning affairs in which the offense provided 0 runs over 13 extra innings of play. 
While the season has been disappointing and could be labeled even worse... if we point fingers here...the pitching is not the biggest issue.  Again, blown saves have hurt, but college offenses put up runs these days. 

Congrats to Ragusa. The only two games I got to see him play, he was the best player on the floor both games.

With the amount of games that these teams play, they are going to blow some saves and have bad outings. No baseball is immune from a "choke job". The pitching staff has been the strongest aspect of their team all year. If there is any gripe to be had its with the offense being at the bottom of Division 1 at scoring runs. For a Pitching Coach that does a terrible job and needs to be fired, Lamar has pitched really well this season.

Lamar is currently ranked 15th out of 289 teams in Team ERA and 15th out of 289 in hits/9 innings. Pretty impressive.

For Kountze, a lot to look forward to. They put in the work and will be a problem for this district over the next few years.

Anahuac is a matchup that Kountze desperately misses the older Sells kid, from a basketball perspective. Lost 90% of our height and a lot of our edge, for a lack of a better word. Eh, maybe next year.

No sir. Ive seen them play several times this year and they can look really good or pretty average depending on the shot selection. No doubt Zach Sells is a great player to build around, he’s already special. I think they’ll be solid as they get a little more size to em. That’s when they’ll start to excel , when they can start to beat ya up a little on the defensive end of the floor. Very unusual to be in the playoff hunt with all sophomores and freshman but Joub has got em there. He’ll get the most out of em. 

Yeah it’s true, Kountze needs the 3 ball to be falling, just the way they currently are constructed, but tonight was a lot more than the “live by the 3 die by the 3” mantra. They were not jacking up 3s, they were trying to get into the body of the bigs and get to the rack as well. Nothing was going down, all night. Top that off with the defensive effort and miscues, it was a rough night for our boys. They will be fine, one tough night does not define this group, just like one big win Tuesday at EC doesn’t either. Long road ahead for this bunch.

To say Kountze struggles with consistency is a massive understatement. But it’s pretty expected from a team that returned 1 Varsity starter, 0 Seniors, and a swarm of Sophomores. The two Juniors play some big time minutes though. With the 8th grader coming, Kountze can be a real problem in the next 2-3 years. If they could get the older brother back they would be that much better. Either way, the next couple years should be a fun ride.
