I used to talk with Bennie about Texas football back in the 80s. His depth of knowledge and his memories were unparalleled.   I was proud to see his journals in the Texas football exhibit at the Bob Bullock museum few years ago. Bennie was a fine man. RIP Mr. Cotton.

I always carry in my truck, but not normally on me personally.  I usually conceal at Christmas time when we are out shopping and doing more things at night.  I think I will start concealing a lot more with all of these crazy people that our government keeps letting in the country.

I don't see Strong leaving Texas right now. Miami is a step down the career ladder. Aside that, I don't see "pine box" Tubberville as a good fit in Miami either. Cristobal would be the best guy if he is ready for a HC gig.

Brown had some good plays on special teams early in the season. Due to work schedules, I haven't kept up as much lately. I do hope he keeps his head on straight and stays at Bama.

I  tire of Musberger, but will trade Gary & Verne for him right now!

Christmas came early! Much to my surprise,  Bama shutdown Fournette and stole his shot at the Heisman. Maybe gives Henry the chance at the trophy. The Longhorns won big and Arkansas used all their luck to beat Ole Mess. Woo Pig Sooie! The poor old Aggies faltered,  but you can't have everything. Great day for college football. Looking forward to the committee ranking in a few days.

I am not one to rub salt in wounds.  I was at the game in Austin tonight because I figured this was the last game I could pretty much be assured to see a win.  No "juice" in the stadium tonight.  And Texas is not a very good football team.  
It occurred to me tonight that for the first time in a long time, neither Texas nor A&M are likely in the top 3 teams in this state.  Texas obviously, but I would probably say the Ags would be underdogs against Baylor, TCU and U of H.  Never thought I would see that happen in my lifetime....

Johnny is playing pretty well but his receivers are brutal.  I've lost count of the dropped passes.  He needs that pot head from Baylor to throw to.  

Bama will kick a last second FG to win 21-20 after an epic battle.  Next weeks polls will have Bama #2 and LSU #4!

if that scenario happens Dallas draft picks will be legit needs, Houston would not surprise me if they drafted a kicker/punter with their first pick.

I was wrong again Mr Buddy Garrity!  At least this time it didn't cost me a burger... Fitz has been a LOT better than Mallet. Mallet migt have agreat arm and talent, but he has mush for brains! Houston had no choice but to cut him, even without good viable options for a replacement.  You are also right that the Houston team does not deserve to be called Texans.  Until they right the ship, they are the Houston Browns.  Don't get excited Dallas fans, your team is the Browns too. It sucks to be a football fan in Texas right now.

My memory is shot, but didn't Murray Sr have an ankle injury?  I was thinking that's why he left for the NFL, but my rear view mirror is kinda cloudy. I expect Murray to win this 3 day QB competition and start on Saturday. I still can't believe Sumlin let Allen self destruct for so long. Curious to see what happens. 

If you're trying to question his performance,  you're making yourself look awful bad.  The man is a winner in every sense of the word.  
Some people could care less if PNG EVER made the playoffs,  as long as they beat Nederland.  But, how long would he keep his job like THAT?
Me?  I'll take the playoffs.  The Nederland wins will come in time.  He's still young.

Actually my wife is dong awesome. Dr told her to come back next year. Always good to hear those words.
 

baddog, I was thinking that after the Bama game. Allen had meltdown last week, and completely destructed last night. I used to criticize Urban Meyer for babying Tebow, but watching Sumlin let Allen burn uncontrolled is worse. That was the ugliest  SEC game I've seen. Poor play is one thing, but the poor sportsmanship was worse. I expected an offensive shootout, but got a dumpster fire instead.  All the Ags that threw rocks at Strong and Texas are looking silly now...
