Better bring mesquito dope. BC is about like High Island. I remember one year at High Island, W.Sabine was playing High Island and HI was leading by 2 points and W. Sabine's running back broke through the middle of the line on the last play and was uncontested towards the end zone but the mesquitos drug him down at the 5 yard line. HI won the game.

Daisetta will be a playoff team this year I predict! Kountze may not be the team to judge rather or not a team is a playoff team but compare to last year Daisetta seems to be heading in the right direction

Lol! Compared to last year when they only won 2 games the entire year ,this is pretty good.
Even though Kountze is no powerhouse , if they can win that next week I believe they will turn a few heads.

I feel you Cactus!! I was really confused last night when Newton didn't try and open it up with some passing. I never forget the year Newton played Tatum in Lufkin (I think it was maybe in 07) anyway we were down by 3 or 4 with little time in the game left and we throw a deep ball which is caught and the WR took it inside the 20. And for the next 4 plays we ran the ball and never attempted a throw. Newton always confuses me when it comes to play calling on offense. I understand in small school you run the ball a whole lot more but games like last night and other games we live and die by the run and it's like their afraid to pass. I'm Not dogging Newton as I am a graduate of their many years ago! 😄 just was a little frustrated

Read an article on Beaumont enterprise website about the Eagles and I think Coach Johnston hit it on the nose with his comments. I sit in the stands every Friday and listen to all these so called coaches in stands gripping and complaining about everything thinking they know so much. Newton has been winning for a long time with these same coaches and it's worked for many years the kids need to get out of the stands and do what they told or it will be a long season.

Newton has some good athletes,but they are missing that fire in their gut.The only way they win District is if that fire gets lit.I can only hope.

Been a couple years since I posted (lol) but I had to come on and say this regardless if Newton gets beat by 50 or wins by one there is still not two better teams in the last 30 years IMHO. I expect Newton to forget their record and how bad the season has gone thus far and play a good game. On a side note I still see them winning district and going deep in playoffs!! :))))
