1. Early in the year the thread "who is the best catcher" came down to parker and felts with felts having been promoted alot more than parker can anyone else see the irony??  Parker when asked always seemed to stay humble and lead his team.. now that felts season is over and having the opurtunity to watch both young men head to head, Parker is the best catcher in southeast texas..
 2. what was the score between WE and Buna?
 3. coach pitch and machine pitch tournament in Jasper will be June the 12th.  All leagues are welcome, teams will play 2 seeding games in the morning then play a single elem. bracket.  Last year we had 15 teams and are looking for more this year...for more info call...wade @ 409-489-8513 or Duncan @ 409-383-0027.
 4. I dont sit with the strike zone either but I love the fact that baseball is supported so strong by the student body in jasper. Look at all the other schools that we play in district or playoffs no other school brings as many kids than jasper. now alot of that is they enjoy "heckeling" but what ever works, it brings a great atmosphere to all the ball games...
 5. When you attend a jasper baseball game its obvious that jasper sets the bar for baseball in southeast texas on the field and in the stands....

BC has done well in 3A but also competed when in 4A. The competition IMO is a little tougher in the golden triangle. We all know BC is young. I don't think that will make a difference. I still say BC wins in 3. Even though I have never seen Jasper play. Trying to get back on topic. Orangefield beat Jasper in the playoffs in 2005 and was the underdog. Of course it was a 1 game series. That does make a difference. The Orangefield kids have benefited from the BC little league.
Jasper has a long string of playoff appearance that date back to their time in 4A also.  They have been beaten by many good teams over the years in the playoffs.  I am sure the competition is tough in the Golden Triangle, but there are several teams in East Texas with the state championships from the Pineywoods.  Carthage, Jasper, Woodville, Colmesneil, San Augustine, and Alto are the schools with championships through the years that I can think of off the top of my head.  I am sure there are others.  Most of those teams aren't what they used to be but it isn't unheard of for teams from the Lakes area to hold their own.
I do know that the teams from the lakes area can hold their own. Their record speaks for itself.  Most of the posters on here have picked Jasper.  I am pulling for BC because according to most posters they are the underdog. Got to love the underdog, plus they are our neighbors. Orangefield and Bridge city have a love-dislike relationship. We pull for them when we don't play them. I am sure you understand, kind of like the Silsbee/Jasper thing. ;D ;D
I never pull for Jasper, unless they're the last team in the area playing. ;) That being said, Go Cards!!!!
No I dont understand the love-dislike relationship, only someone NOT from jasper or silsbee would say that!!!! That being said, enjoy your vacation tigers!!!!!
Has he pitched this year?
And can he throw strikes?  There's a difference between throwing low 90's and pitching low 90's....
I would bet he doesn't throw that hard.
I was curious especially with Sowell LHP throwing low to mid 80's why you haven't heard more about Parker pitching.  I think you also sacrifice when you pull Parker from behind the plate because of his defensive abilities, Kinda like pitching OF's Felts....IMO
He has a good back up his only problem pitching is he likes to inflict to much pain on the batters....if they look at him wrong he might hit em.... and yea he does PITCH that hard.
 8.
Didn't Mixon graduate from Woodville and did Jasper play in Woodville Tournament?
he is a jasper boy just got started head coaching in woodville...

Zoch jr. Guidry fresh. Hubbard soph. What will Jasper's rotation be?
Smith (2B), sophomore has some junk too.  He threw early in the season and had some success, but don't know his present status.  BTW, it will be hard to keep Hicks off the hill in any game!!!
Dont be suprised if Ty parker starts the 3rd game if needed his fast ball is low 90's and has a nasty breaking stuff...

The only reason I put the in front of Jasper is to get some talk going on here lol. I cant wait till football season!!!
Yeah I'm with you on that....Jasper has been laying low for some reason,I haven't read a post out of Jasper in awhile...
Its baseball season you know the little white round ball...jasper is officially a baseball schooll now with 18 straight playoff app.
 14. Mixon from jasper no doubt the program is second to none and congrats on 300 wins..
 15.
Maybe someone could give us up to date 2010 Offensive/Defensive stats on the catchers mentioned.  Felts, Parker, and others?
well parker stands atop the hr's with 8...
 16. If Jasper can get through this week and beat carthage and hudson for the second time this season no one can argue who the best from setx is...
 17. so Ty Parker has the fastest "POP" time is setx and is leading setx in homeruns with 8..It looks to me that the only advantage felts has over parker is that he is in a biggger media market therefor he recieves more "hype"
 18. 1. vidor 2. jasper 3. png 4. bridge city 5. west brook the rest dont matter..
 19. why dont the kids in burkeville play in jasper they have a great little league program..
 20. if carthage and hudson was in 21-3a they would both make the playoffs with bridge city...orangefield (who can dispute them) all of setx what have they done? ever?  jasper, bc, carthage, hudson, are the top 4 teams in 3a region 3..
 21. jasper already beat carthage and plays hudson tonight, with a win they will be in the drivers seat..
