last years top catcher prospects (ty-jasper felts-orangefield) were studs at the plate along with their defense so put up some stats when making your argument.

I still think south of Jasper, north of anahuac, east of Liberty, I dont think 19 4a or baytown is in our area,  Im with chris 4, 6, and 12 If you watch houston news your not in setx...

will be interesting to see how far the kville football program will fall over the next few years...

depends on what age west end has trouble beating the foshee (sp) coached teams..

boys basketball Jasper 107 kville 42  ouch!!!! just proves some from jasper's point Alvarez is a good football coach but not a good AD because all sports revolve around football...

the same thing could be said about baseball Jasper could score 50 on kville with little effort..what goes around in fall comes around in spring..

should be a good choice maybe he will stay a while and build a program..

I think the same thing, will be someone not mentioned on the board.  hope they will want to stay a while and build a program.  We have alot of good athletes in middle school that will be really good in baseball and can be great football as well.  we could be another carthage that won both state champs in baseball and football...

alvarez and barbay was at the JISD admin. building in person this week each for 2+ hours give or take a little I didnt time the interviews...I wouldnt know who the other guys are when I saw them. 1 young guy I thought he might be the one from carthage. but that was a guess. Jasper has always kept a low profile on the coaches that applied I guess that is good for the coaches if they dont get hired. the first thing we will here will be the person who gets recomended to the board (and hired).

Barbay and alverez interviewed on the same day wonder how they compared head to head????? also the powers to be are excited on the quality of applicants....dont be suprised if its someone that hasnt been mentioned on this board...and yes jack would love to coach the athletes jasper has coming up...

I dont think its jacks job barbay is a better fit than jack in jasper.

well spoken big wildcat but just hiring "good" coaches is just one spoke in the wheel..the hc/ad must be willing to let kids go after football and focus on baseball. thats hard to do for most football coaches. kville has a great baseball coach a great little league program and some very good baseball players, so why isnt kville sucessful in baseball imo its because football is everything including during the offseason during baseball and the players are unable to give baseball 100%. its sad that some of the kids in kville would have a brighter future in baseball but they were never allowed to develop those skills because it intervered with football..

alvarez will not be a good fit for jasper that being said i think he is a great coach.  the off cord from carthage would be better because he comes from a school more similar to jasper. Kirbyville has one good program and that is football.  Jasper's most sucessful program is baseball and that in it self would drive alvarez crazy and remember the new hc will be the ad.  Carthage has been sucessful in both baseball and football.

who is larry upshaw and where is he from or what has he done?

this thread was started with qb karrion morrisey so I will get back on subject....I think after watching him for a season he is part of the problem not the answer...he is out of position period....put him at running back...develop a qb that can read a defence and can throw until that happens the football program will suck...
