I know that’s right - although I am sure he would rather have had the state championship. Silsbee has been amazing this year. I know this one will sting for a while. But, only good things to come for Silsbee and the fine young men moving on next year.

Offense has been inconsistent all year. Not shocking. Hopefully next year they will be more seasoned on that side of the ball under this new system.

I concur. It would be no shame in losing to Silsbee this year. It would not diminish the season the team has had thus far.

I am a little shocked at the number of folks picking Jasper. Our offense is just too inconsistent. We could lose to anybody or beat anybody. I would never bet for this team. But, I wouldn’t bet against them either.

I was in middle school. But remember that game very fondly and all the pageantry surrounding it. It was standing room only.

Jasper was more depleted than we realized. I hope the community can support the team and give the coaches a couple of years to rebuild the program. DC is out of the picture this year. But I think we have enough to be in the hunt for a playoff spot if we can win. It will be a tough game.

Wonderful family. His son Rusty was my band teacher for many years. He taught countless students the “art” of music. Art Lay will forever be a part of the Jasper football legend.  2022 has been rough y’all. Rest In Peace Art!

I guess we all want success for our teams nothing wrong with that, but at some point we do have to look our recent history and calculate our average win percentages over the past few decades and if the Barbay’s aren’t too far off your schools average win percentage by the decades then you can probably conclude they’re getting about the best they can get out of the talent in the area.  Now if jasper was averaging 13 wins a season and putting up state title runs every other year throughout the 80’s 90’s the 2000’s  and now all the sudden since Barbay took over they’re getting bounced in the first round then sure I’d point the finger at them.
