I think that's an outstanding idea and it's not like the school couldn't afford it based on the triple story press boxes and multi million dollar event centers that are going up on campus. The problem is that Dodge probably wouldn't agree to it if he could only pick a Black man and that's what is behind this whole charade.
It's funny, I was talking to one of my closest Mustang buddies (who happens to be a black man) and we never cared what color our coach was when we were playing. Most of our Mustang brothers want the program we bled for back. It's doesn't matter in the least what race the man is. We've never cared about that. It's the outsiders that have infiltrated this community or people who never knew what it was to be a Mustang that have injected this worldly concept into our program. It's like a cancer.

I wonder how much revenue the school has lost as a result of the football program not advancing in the playoffs? In addition, it seems like there is a huge drop in attendance at the games. Make no mistake, from a straight monetary position the program is not bringing in the money that it used to.  I would hope money raised through the football program would be utilized to help with the band, other sports and academics. Certainly if that is the case, then other programs are hurting financially.  The tradition of the football program was built by hard work, quality coaching, great athletes, great families, consistency, tough discipline and tough love. The football program remains a source of great pride for our little community and a place where everyone should be able to come together. A standard of exceptionalism has been set and nothing less should be acceptable. It’s really tough seeing our program fall to average. Our kids deserve the very best that we can give them. Just my opinion.

Welcome to the new WOS. Not a football power anymore but a school of change and innovation.

The demeanor of these kids giving 112% is heart breaking. I hate what these kids have been thru. They came up expecting to compete for a championship. Not this mickey mouse nonsense

This is so hard to watch! This is not Mustang football. Our kids are disorganised on defense and offense. This is a coaching issue. With the athletes that WOS gets year in and year out there is no excuse for this performance. I hope the school board will take action. We should find the best qualified coach we can find to get this program back on track. We handed the keys to the winningest program in the State of Texas to a coach with no head coaching experience. Our kids deserve better .

I could've been successful with them.
The difference is those coaches from the previous era would have this group in the semis. Just like last year when we were picked to play Carthage by the experts at DCTF

With  CT coaching my money would be on the Mustangs. Slot T would be stopped dead in its tracks. In addition this current WOS team would not be in fourth place limping into the playoffs. Unfortunately this WOS staff will be out coached and out executed. Lack of discipline and untimely penalties will doom the Mustangs. Too many quality kids and families to not have the very best coaching they can get. It’s very tough watching the Mustang football program become just another program. Years of hard work blood sweat and tears to build a juggernaut of a program all being dismantled at an alarming rate. Our kids and community deserve better. We can do better!

I am hoping for a WOS win for the players. I am also hoping for a loss for the WOS coaches. Win or lose it is time for a change at WOS. For the players, fan base, and supporters. WOS in a close one but goes down 35-24.

All right Bears, now starts a new part of the season. Pulling for you to send CH back to Tyler to get ready for basketball.

Hoping everything I’m hearing about the transfer RB is correct and he will be able to help the Bear offense beginning next week. The back up QB done a great job moving the offense via the pass when he came into the game. Having the stud RB back will do nothing but help the QB situation. Wishing the Bears much success in The playoffs! Next Friday in 9-4A will determine who we all face round 1. Kilgore vs CHill & Palestine vs Athens outcomes.
Prayers for a speedy recovery for #16

Imo it's been the constant flow of youth away from Orange. Kids that can get away to go to college don't come back. And if they do, they don't go back to the neighborhoods they grew up in. They buy homes in LCM, OF, or BC. It's the reason I have a classmate on the school board at OF. And several teach at other districts in OC. Many of the names I see at other schools are kids of WOS alumni. We have former players that coach at other districts in state and out. Graduates becoming HS principals, not back home where they could actually make the difference. But in more affluent areas where you can still get a steak after 9pm and pizza delivered until 3am. Comfort, convenience and job opportunities abound in places like Katy and Spring. So how many of them wanna come back to Orange to witness this small town politics that has taken over our schools? Close to none.
I can only think of one that hopefully still has a return home targeted for his future. 🤞🙏🧢

I think it’s rumor.   If CT wanted Hickman, and thought it was best for the program, or least transitional, there would not have been the turnover there was.
All the longtime coaches would not have left had things been smooth, and going in the right direction.

You don’t lose those guys, and replace them with younger, inexperienced, less quality guys and continue to win on the level they are accustomed too.
But hey, who cares, they have a head coach, and staff that looks like the rest of the community, or so we are suppose to believe.

But to further clarify..  I'm not saying that WOS should have hired a white guy, or they can't win with a black coach.... that's untrue.
I just think that a lot of good coaches of all colors decided to skip the circus down in WOS.  The public (through their racist actions) empowered the super/admin to make what seems to be a bad hire.  That's my point.
